Every now and then after remote starting vehicle my parking brake will be set and when I push button it will continue to set the parking brake. I’ll have to put the vehicle in gear quickly to prevent it from continuing to set the brake. Anyone else have any issues like this?

It's push to set and pull to release the brake

Is it on a hill? Or is it rolling? I've noticed that if I put mine in park and it rolls a little, the parking break enables automatically.

Does it happen if you just turn on without remote start

Design feature, though I don't recall how much transmission output shaft rotation (in °) -- or is it the ABS-wheel-rings? -- has to occur before it triggers. Not much I gather, since the park-pawl (which people like to pretend is a parking brake!) will already be engaged.

Assuming nothing is mechanically wrong, which would need a serviceperson, not a forum, are you sure it's the parking brake being applied? Does the DIC tell you the parking brake is set, or is it just that the brakes are on? There is a brake hold option that applies the brake until you press the gas and it releases. It will hold you even on a hill but it isn't the same as a parking brake. The button for the brake hold is right behind the parking brake puller. If that says "ON" then the brake hold is on, not the parking brake. The parking brake operates with the switch forward of that, but it doesn't have an indicator. It tells you on the DIC screen that the brake is on or off when you actuate it. If the parking brake is actually on, the car gives warnings if you try to drive it.

The issue is I’ll release the break and it will immediately set again
Below it engage the hill roll stop thing.
Secondly, yer in park, brake on.
You start the engine, if your foot is not down in the brake pedal it will do this in mine. It’s most likely fine on yours .. most likely.

I almost always remote start so not sure if there would be a discrepancy
I would try to duplicate it using other ways...
I would try from a button start and a phone start, sounds weird and I would definitely be calling for a service appointment. If I just got it, I'd call the salesperson who might be able to get you in faster as it was just delivered.

On a side note, did it start after a recent update, cause those things reek havoc if you do WiFi downloads

I have had this exact thing happen and hadn't found this thread until now. I found the parking brake engaged when I manually extended the remote start time from the Ford pass app. Unfortunately I do not have a fix, because I just stopped doing the time extension to avoid it happening again. Hope this helped in any way because I would like to know too haha

I am not sure why this is a problem. Are people not using the parking brake and upset that it engages automatically? You don't even need to pull the switch to disengage. When you put the car in drive or reverse and hit the gas, it disengages automatically.

So...from what I understand you are in constant parking brake? You wouldn't be able to drive it if parking brake is applied. But if you are able to drive...well...then the parking brake is not on anymore LOL. Just take it to the dealers man they are more qualified than us.

This has happened to me two times now. I live in a colder climate and I've noticed it usually is when it's very cold and when I use the app. At first, I thought I was parked on an incline of a snow chunk but it just happened the other day and it was a flat surface. Additionally the last time it happened the vehicle was making a weird noise where the exhaust was going in spurts. But once it was out of the parking brake everything was normal?

Ran into this today after remote starting. Had to make sure my foot was on the brake before the parking brake would release.
