I am looking at a Bronco Big Bend and the dealer says its "in transit" but unable to give a date, I used the tracker app and was given a date of 10/21 but it shows a different dealer. Does anyone know if this date is really accurate or will it be before and does it drop at one dealer and then picked up by the one that ordered it?

In the old days it was common for dealerships to swap cars, but in today's climate I would seriously doubt it. In my case the dealer I ordered from is part of group of 7 Ford dealerships all under one ownership. Each of the dealers showed multiple Bronco Sports in stock or in transit that weren't actually at their location. Contact the actual dealer that ordered the car you are looking at for the best information on the dates, the ordering dealer has access to the "visibility report" and can tell you exactly where it is in real time.

If it actually shows as shipped and is in transit then the dates are pretty accurate. Some see them come in a few days eariler than what's posted. Is the dealer listed also owned by the dealer you are going through?

Yes they are owned by the same person and its actually an arrival date of 10/15-10/21, would it be closer to the 10/15? I do not want to make another payment on the trade in if I don't have to.

It usually depends on circumstances of shipping

Having followed the wait list thread and after dealing with my dealer 9 out of 10 times they show up a couple days prior or right on the shown date. I hardy see anyone getting it past the posted dates unless there's some odd hold up. If it's showing 10/15-10/21 at least expect it within those dates, but it could absolutely show up a few days earlier. Do expect it closer to the 10/15 date though. Just keep an eye on it because some dealers dont call as soon as they get it.

my experience: I was told a delivery on a Monday. it arrived 2 days later (Wed) by rail then finally truck. this was important for me as I had planned on retrieving it and took the day off. I got the call first thing Wed but couldn't actually drive it home till around 7 pm. not sure what your state inspection/emissions are but that was the big hold up and they rushed it for me. I had family buy a vehicle in the same state a few weeks later and their backlog of emissions was such they needed to schedule a future date (a week) to get it all sorted out. I saw mine pre-detailing too and it was filthy, inside and out. that also took time while I finished up the financing. so in and around the date is good, but I wouldn't count on keys-in-hand to be that window

So each car has to go through state inspections prior to being released to the dealer?
Holy hell, no wonder why the date of delivery seems so out of wack with the progress of the railcar. Nothing gets done promptly when Government is involved.

Wow that is amazing. In NV, cars are exempt from emissions etc for the first year. So if I get a new car in Jan 2022 I dont even have to do emissions in Jan 2023. The first one I have to do is Jan 2024.

One of the perks of living in the south, never have to do an emissions test. I guess they figure its so hot here global warming cant make it any worse. I do remember back in Illinois my mother had to get her 66 mustang tested. I think it failed once and she had to do it again. They don't make them like they used to.

The badlands I am waiting on will be my first ordered vehicle so no experience in transit times, but I figure that's not a big deal since I don't know its production date anyway. As long as they don't forget to call me when it shows up until the 6th day after they can release it from the x-plan and sell it to someone else anyway.

Early December is a birthday gift, late is Christmas gift. January will be a welcome to the new year gift. Its all the same to me.

And the Valium award goes to Leenaya!!!

How I wish we could all be as laid back as you as to the status and future delivery of our vehicles. I have already figured out how to track the train and where the auto drop point is for the train. I have ordered cars in the past and I am dropping over 40K on my BL so that puppy has my name written all over it!
