Anyone else purchase the service manual DVD from Helm ? Beside asking for software readers from 2009, showing a 2001 copyright, relying on the DVD to link to Ford online, and generally being more of a tutorial than a service manual, main problem I am having is none of the electrical sections appears to load. I called HELM and the said they would have some from Ford call. If anyone has gotten the electrical section to load I would be interested in hearing. Otherwise definitely would not recommend buying this.

Have you been able to get the electrical sections to load from the DVD?
Yes. The format that the electrical section is in required SVGVIEW. I installed tools/adobe/win2K/SVGVIEW located the the DVD.

Here are my comments to Helm - Ford never followed up. Sadly pretty typical of Ford software support on this car. Not to mention a manual that appears to cover other cars !

TO HELM: Thanks. In the meantime I was able to get the program on the electrical section to display by going to the dvd and via tools/adobe/win2k/SVGview install the viewer that is required. Ford needs to have this done as part of the installation or tell users how to do it manually.

It appears to me this DVD is more a workshop than a true service manual in the sense it shows via a block diagram how various parts are connected, but for example does not go into details like pin connections and wiring harness. In that respect it probably is much less useful than people think it will be. But at least I got it to run. I don't know if these are Ford issues or Helm, but overall the software interface is like the copyright said, circa 2001. Extremely primitive and the search function especially is pretty much useless. I really can't recommend this product to potential users.

Hi. I just got mine from fleaBay. Yah. They haven't updated the TIS app since 1997. Install the svg viewer and you be fine. It's not documented and with windows 10 it doesn't Lauch the 2nd is taller correctly.

I have a few and have just setup a VirtualBox vm for windows 7 with an old license key.

I rip the DVD to an iso and put it in the vm. It makes swapping for differnt years a breeze.

Also, you can get a connector pin out with "connector view". What data do you want?
