Hello all,

Where should I attach a recovery rope if I were to get stuck and need to be pulled out in my big bend? I don’t have the tow hooks in this trim, and I don’t see any obvious covers for a tow point (unless I am missing them!).

Any ideas/recommendations?Tried a search and looked through the manual but am not seeing it. Thanks!

The bolts holes for the Badlands tow hooks should be on the frame. But you would have to cut holes in bumper cover for the hooks to come through.

That’s what I figure, I can’t imagine the BB would not have the hookups, just behind the covers.

Seems like to get both covers out without cutting, you need to take the bumper off. They’re both held in with pretty standard panel clips, but they are really stiff, so I am a little afraid of snapping them.

From the passenger side front wheel well, you can take out the plastic clips on the carpet-like liner, and pull it back to see the backside of the tow hook cover. Unfortunately, the ECU is in front of the drivers side front tire, so you cannot access it in the same way.

I am going to try to get the passenger side one out from the wheel well and I’ll report back with pictures and feedback. I really just need one tow point so I can get pulled out of deep sand out on the beach, so one is fine until I get brave enough to remove the whole bumper…

I wonder if that small hole in the front bumper is the screw hole for a emergency tow screw in device. Can anyone confirm? I would be willing to cut a whole and make a plug in the bumper on mine

After another walk around, I emembered there was a small panel on the rear passenger-side bumper

Check your spare tire many vehicles have such a tow hook next to the spare tire ( I think I saw one there in the past but can’t confirm as my BS BB is in the body shop undergoing repairs for off-road damage )

Any update on taking off the bumper and checking the frame?

But there has to be some recovery points somewhere, right? Is the screw in hook with the spare tire stuff or in the spare tire compartment? I cannot find information in the owners manual either,

All the models have an eye hook for the rear bumper recovery point. It should be in spare tire area. Unless you have a hitch, then the recovery eye hook can’t be used and you need to buy a receiver shackle setup. As for the front, you need to add the hooks if you need a front recovery point.

The badlands has thick brackets welded to frame that the front tow hooks tie into. The lower trims are missing those brackets. So adding front tow hooks to lower trims would require someone fabricating brackets to tie front tow hooks to frame.
