2025 OuterBank Spare tire that works

Picked up a 2025 Ford Bronco Sport - Outer Banks and like many others, was disappointed to find an air pump and no spare tire.
Note: unlike other models, the OuterBanks model has 18" wheels (other models use 17".

Asked several Ford Dealership Parts Departments and didn't get too far. One quoted wheel ($120) and tire ($140) plus mount/balance but couldn't guarantee it would fit. Another gave me a wheel they had laying around and showed me that a new 2025 hub fit the wheel. Got excited only to bring it home and see the overall diameter was about 4 inches smaller.

So I did a LOT of online research and here's what I found - that worked perfectly:
LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER EVOQUE SPARE TIRE WHEEL RIM 155/85/18 R18 18" from eBay - delivered for $113.


By perfectly, I mean it not only fit the hub, was same diameter as stock tires but fit the wheel well when stored without lifting the stock trunk cover.

I've included pics below along with eBay seller /price in case you're looking as well.

Seems like it would have been a lot less effort just to get a 225/65 r17 mounted on a steel rim for a spare tire just like the one included with a badlands or with the Big Bend with black diamond off road package.

Thanks, perhaps. But then the wheel geometry is off and that's what I was looking to avoid. OuterBanks wheels are 28.4" around - taller than Big Bend and Badlands.
Not trying to create a holy war here, just let others looking for a same sized spare (not from ModernSpare.com or others) that works for OuterBanks, that's all.

Tires are what I did for almost 27 years, started out working in the bay ended up owning my own shop. Something I still have a passion for even though I work operating heavy equipment now. I just can't seem to veer away from tires LOL

The difference between a 225 60 18 and a 225 65 17 is 1/10 of an inch.

Lots of OEM BS spare tires with jacks on E-Bay. This is exactly what I did for my neighbor that owns a 2025 Heritage Edition. $185 dollars shipping included.

Same reason some people can fit 20” wheels on their 1998 Grand Ams… running a 30 profile tire.

Yep, that's called plus sizing. That's exactly how some people are fitting much larger rims on the same vehicle without changing the gear ratio or speedometer read out or anything like that.
Doing this and sticking to the 3% rule is pretty much how manufactures can offer different size wheel packages on the same vehicle. For example you can up size to an 18-in wheel on the Bronco sport Big Bend within a certain package. Essentially it's just the outer Banks wheel run on the Big Bend. Tire diameter does not need to be changed in the computer in the vehicle.
