Hi Bronco Sport enthusiasts,

New to the BS family and have just purchased my OB and am loving it. I initially was going to get the sasq package after see the one in the showroom, but opted against at the end of it and went stock OB. An AS tire came with the vehicle and I have to switch to a 3PMSF rated tire. I’m thinking about going with an AT tire and 17” trim to get similar look as the sasq package.

I have my eye on a set of 17” black rhino boxer rims. I’m thinking a lighter weight tire like the Falken Wildpeak 235/65 17R. The guy at the wheel shop pointed out the sasq package has a higher ground clearance and I might need the 1.5” SST ready lift kit to accommodate this size tire.

With those wheels and rims in that size, would I need a lift kit installed?

A concern for me also is maintaining the factory warranty as much as possible, being a brand new vehicle. Is the bigger risk with tires rubbing, or aftermarket lift kits being installed?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks so much!

235/65 works...no lift kit required.
A competent "wheel shop guy" would know that.
No, they wouldn’t necessarily, unless it’s a Bronco Sport-only shop. With a wheel change, you’re also now adding the complication of likely different backspace and offset as well. Way too many variables for an honest shop to make a categorical statement one way or another without test fitting.

Check out https://www.wheel-size.com/calc/ to see how quickly small changes can ruin your day.

Hi Jake,

I was initially gonna go with a 245/65/17 and 1.5” lift, but I didn’t wanna completely kill my fuel economy so I went with lighter 235 at 31
pounds per tire. I figured and hoped the smaller size tire would eliminate the need for a lift kit. Sounds like I can just have them do the tires and rims pressure sensors and no lift without any worries? “Wheel shop Guy” is a reputable business owner, but he is probably not above an upsell on a lift I asked him about lol. I appreciate your comment and knowledge, cheers.
