Hi everyone,

This is post #1 of a 4 posts serie covering my 4x4 crossings in La Rioja (Argentina) during 2025 April.

The "Crater Corona del Inca" (Inca Crown Crater) is located at 5,500 meters (18,000 ft) above sea level in the Andes Mountains, making it the highest altitude accessible by vehicle in the world.

It was a 320 km (almost 200 mi) round trip journey starting at 5AM that took us 12 hours in total.

Enjoy!

Thanks, that’s beautiful.. How did you and the BS hold up? Must have been a grueling drive at that altitude.

SĂ, al llegar al crater me marcaba medio tanque pero en la vuelta gastĂł mucho menos combustible. Es un tema que me preocupĂł pero el guĂa me habĂa anticipado que no habrĂa problemas.

Yes, the oxygen tank was very useful!! I didn't notice any loss of power in the BS. Just ground clearance was the main issue as we all know... Other than that it was a great adventure!
Thanks!
