I have a two week old Bronco Sport Outer Banks. Enjoy driving it...but I noticed I am getting 13 MPG! I switched to ECO mode and now am at 15 MPG. However, the dealer and sticker on car when I purchased said it was rated at 22MPG. Should I get this checked out? I noticed that engine is revving fast and that the engine does not shut down when I stop at a light or in traffic, as supposed to do. Any guidance on this topic will be much appreciated. I tried pushing down VERY hard on brake when at a stop sign, or in traffic and that seems to stop the engine but not all the time. #MPG. #engine revving #newbroncosportowner

I have a '23 OBX. I get at least 25mpg in the city and have gotten up to 36mpg on the interstate. That's in normal driving mode not eco. I'm 81 and drive like it but 13 to 15 tells me you have a definite problem. Get it checked out.

My '23 Outer Banks is getting 26 to 27 MPG, and that is all city driving. There is something not right with yours. As to the auto stop/start feature, are you disabling it after you start it up? Is your Bronco brand new, or used? If used, maybe a previous owner installed the disable cable under the dash.

If it's brand new, then search on this forum about auto stop/start. One of the members here (Mark) listed the reasons why the feature could be disabling itself (also listed in your Owners Manual). Things like outside air temps and how you have your A/C settings set, and so on.

There is also the possibility that your engine is still getting broken in. Typically, mileage on new cars will increase over the first few months of ownership. You still have plenty of warranty left so see if it goes up over the next couple weeks/ months.

My Badlands is no fuel sipper compared with my other car, a FIAT 500. That said, I got it used and fuel economy was bad like yours - I did a hard reset on everything and started using premium (93 octane) fuel. I am averaging (city and highway combined) about 24mpg which is fine and within factory parameters.

Something else I have noticed over the past year. If you remote start your vehicle and let it idle for a few minutes, it will impact the readout on your dash by a lot. Remember that information is not only based on how many miles you drive, but also upon fuel being used. In my 2010 Escape I would frequently get 34 Mpg on trips. However, if I just stopped once for a rest stop break it would drop to 28. When I manually calculated it would still be 34 MPG.

Best to manual calculate.

I have a BB with a performance tune. It is lifted, has a roof rack, 245/17s and I drive it like I stole it. I get an overall average (80/20 street-highway) of 24 mpg. It's a 4WD so I didn't expect much other than not getting the rig stuck in the "reasonable" mud, lose dirt/gravel and snow conditions I might find myself in. If MPGs were an issue, I'd be sporting a Prius, but 13-15? I'd have your rig checked out for sure.

brand new. MAde a service appointment-- though they said the low mileage might depend on the size of the engine. I remarked the sticker on the windshield. when I bought the Bronco, said 22 MPG.

I have a Green Explosion Bronco Sport. Like yours. Get lots of compliments on the color. I hope to work out the MPG issue. Thanks for the info on manual.

I fell in love with the color. I have had people stop me and compliment it too.

I should mention ours is the 3 cylinder (1.5 liter) engine. I'm not sure what the 2.0 4 cylinder engines are rated MPG wise (if that is what you have).

Not sure if you mentioned in your post(s) or not. Is this a brand new Bronco sport, or did you buy it used? If used, its possible that the previous owner installed some larger than stock tires. This can reduce your MPG reading, as the larger tires are heavier, and the computer would want to be recalibrated to compensate for the larger diameter tires.

If brand new, were there dealer installed options, such as tires or roof racks, etc? Roof racks can reduce MPG readings as they can create a wind drag.
