2023 Badlands air recycle

While driving down the road with the air set to recycle, I have found that the recycle button light goes off and the outside air is filling car again. Has anyone experienced this issue.

All ‘21-‘24 Bronco Sports have that behavior as did my Subaru Forester. Don’t know about the ‘25 Bronco Sports but they probably do as well. Reason supposedly is the vehicle determines high moisture conditions that could fog the windows but it’s annoying.

yes it is normal and very frustrating for me as I like use recirculating especially on very hot days. This feature is also one of the reasons I disliked sync 4 on the 23 Escape. Ford took away the recirculation button and buried in the climate control menu on the large sync 4 screen. At least with the recirculation button on the dahboard there was a light on the button to let you know it was on. You would be able to glance at the button and know if it had turned off. With the sync 4 set up you did not know if recirculation automatically turned off without getting into the screen menu.

Was there a voice command to enable recirc? I realize with no physical indicator like the light on the ‘21-‘24 Bronco Sport recirc button there’s no easy way to know recirc turned itself off for the ‘25 sync 4 (or your ‘23 Escape)

Btw I read if Alexa was enabled you can say "Alexa turn on air recirculation" but I don’t have the 2025 BS so not sure that works.

I never used voice command other than making phone calls so not sure.

Thanks all.
When driving on a country road, recirculate stops those wonderful smells left by decaying skunks. Guess I just to adjust my habits or go max A/C it sounds like

Let us know if Max AC keeps recirc on for you, does not for me and other owners say doesn’t for them either (owners manual is misleading)

lol that’s true too. Seems like the owners manual often is just a stylized representation of reality

So Max A/C was too much but somehow over the last 3 days recirculate has stayed engaged. Go figure. FYI temp has varied about 20-30 degrees during the usage time
