A word of advice for those that have (or will) replace the lugnuts. Retorque the new lugnuts after a little driving (100 miles or so). All of mine took a little bit to get back to the final torque. Cheers!

It's such an inexpensive thing to replace; I don't understand why people don't just do it. Toyota and Nissan apparently have had some issues, too, from what I'm seeing on the Internet, where everything is true!
My brother had a Saturn and now a GMC Yukon Denali. Both have the crappy lug nuts.

I had a 17 Escape with lug nut issues, had to cut some off, my DIL had a 14 Escape and also had issues with lug nuts. She traded hers in before I got hers replaced. When I bought my wife her 24 BS Heritage I replaced her 2 piece with new 1 piece, same when I got my Ranger. You can be as careful changing/rotating your tire as you want, but get tires replaced and the kids doing the work at the tire store is going to use an impact with torque sticks to remove/ install them. Better safe than sorry. New lights are cheap insurance.

I bought a set of locking McGards also.
I have a set of Gorilla lug nuts on my JEEP Wrangler and was looking at buying them for our BS. I have seen McGards on other vehicles, but didn't know the brand. Are the McGrds better than the Gorilla brand lug nuts?

Using an impact is not necessarily bad or dangerous. I use an Ingersol Rand air impact all the time. Mine has an ability to regulate torque for both installation and removal. When set at the low setting for installation, mine gives me about 75-78 foot pounds and I use the torque wrench for final tightening.

reading thru the forum and realized I need to replace the lug nuts before it becomes an issue; fortunately, they're pretty inexpensive. I mean, really, Ford, did you really save that much $ by going to two piece nuts? WTF.
Tire Rack included solid lug nuts with my wheel purchase, but if I wished to replace the factory 2-pice units for my rig, I'd reach out to these guys (no, I'm not a sponsor) https://lugnutguys.com/
