Windshield wiper void

I have a 2024 Bronco Sport Big Bend and have a problem with wet leaves filling that huge void where the windshield wiper sit. We live in a forest, so it's unavoidable. Does anyone have a simple solution to block that (besides building a garage)?

Buy a pool noodle and cram it in there when you park overnight.

Thanks for that idea...I use cut off pool noodles to put in my cowboy boots to hold them upright!

When I replaced my felt-ish side skids with steel ones from JCR, I almost laid an egg when I found all the dirt and trash that it held in the lower rear edge of the fender. It's almost like Ford planned to rot out the fenders!!! Those cute little flappers in the windshield well seems to direct everything past/behind the foam filler and the stock "covers" hold it in place. Now with the new skids, you can just run a garden hose and flush all that crap out.

Wow...what a great idea! I thought the same thing when I saw those "flappers". Wet leaves are nearly impossible to remove completely, and they even go down into the engine space. It's bound to clog something up...not good!

They make tarps with magnets to keep windshields from frosting up, and if large enough, it might cover the gap. It does seem like a silly design, and mine fills with leaves when I park outside. Building a garage is a great idea. It will spoil you.

Even though I'm in Texas and will not be seeing any snow, I took a suggestion from this forum to get a "frost guard" for snow. I did find one and am waiting for delivery. It does have magnets and it will cover from the top of the windshield to the bottom and beyond. Thanks for this...you proved I'm on the right track!

in 2010, 4 feet of snow fell around Christmas time in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. A normally 40 min drive home took me 6 hours! Don't say it doesn't snow in Tx lol

Ok...true. we live in East Texas and I remember...we also got a lot in '96, 2018 & 2021. Not Canada snow, but a lot for us. But, I didn't have my Bronco, then...bring it on!

Have the same problem ,but with acorns in my driveway. Snow also builds up . Pool noodles work until squirrel s try for a orns.

Yes down in the bottom of the fenders also . Had to vacuum them out !!!!

Hi Michael! I just thought I would step back in to ask you what you looked for at JCR to replace those "cute little flappers" at the ends of the wiper void....
