Having spent the last almost 2 years dealing with Ford in terms of (far too much) service and Ford Finance with my BS, I find myself less than impressed with most of it, particularly the (clumsy-ish) app, but it's this kind of tone deafness that continues to agitate.
I'm sorry, why did or would Ford need to 'change their email address' or is this even Ford at all?
I'm dealing with online companies for well over 20 years, some of them Financial institutions- not one ever sent me an email to change anything on my part in order to continue doing e-business as usual. Again, if it's really Ford at all, I'm less than surprised...again.

Smells of phishing or a malware attack. I would delete/report it as spam if you have that option, then contact the Ford rep on this site (start a conversation with them) and ask about this. They should know what is going on.

Anytime someone is asking from a so called financial institution about information changes should not be trusted. Never trust the request in email or text form. Instead, call them and ask.

Cyber security is something everyone needs to be aware of, and be on the lookout for.

I also received this email, and am always suspicious of fraud, so I called Ford via the phone number in the Ford Credit app I’ve used for years.
They told me, it is a legit email contact by Ford.
The reason, I was told, is so this new email address provided, could be added to your contact list, “if you choose”, to prevent future notification's from going to your spam folder. No other further actions needed.

Good for calling and verifying. Also good to let others know.

I never trust an email asking for sensitive or personal information. Kudos to you for looking into this.
