My ‘22 BS BB has 26k miles. Recently took it in for oil x and they recommended getting new tires soon. I’ve never ran continental tires before but 26k miles seems weak, anyone else experience this with stock continentals?

OEM tires wear out faster. Plain fact. They may be the same manufacturer and model you and I can buy off the shelf at a local tire dealer but OEM tires from the factory are made with a softer compound to give the smoothest ride possible for potential buyers. Some people get 30-40k out of them, others 15-20k (or less). All depends on driving style and conditions.

In my experience stock continentals, general and Hankooks are weak OEM. It seems they throw the Budget version on there at th factory.

BUT not all OEM tires are trash. my Silverado has OEM Firestone all terrain that still look great. at 40K My wife’s 16 Explorer (sold) had Hankooks that were trashed by 15K.

& BS Badlands has OEM Falken wild peak that look new at 24K… throw some Falkens on there and don’t look back

BTW I complained to FMC about the Explorer Hankooks , got credit for 2 tires. It’s time consuming but it was principle. 42K in 2016 for an SUV w/ junk tires was bs

Same for my factory Pirelli Scorpion ATR 225/65R17. Replaced at 25400 miles a few days ago with Falkens. I knew the factory Pirelli’s wouldn’t last based on reports from many owners.

Just didn't like the Conti's on my 23. Swapped out to BFG Trail Terrain at 3600 km. Not too aggressive, yet quiet and very good in the winter.

My 2021 explorer has the Pirelli scorpions from the factory. At 28,000 miles the still look almost new. The BS has the continentals and I doubt they’ll last 25,000. Go figure.

I feel your pain - I barely got 30k miles out of the stock Continentals on my BS Outer Banks. For me, I just happened to look at the tires one day not suspecting anything. And I was like, OMG I'm not driving on those any longer! It was a complete surprise to see them worn so badly.

I disagree with the poster who said 'OEM tires wear out faster'. This is NOT my first new vehicle. But it is the first new vehicle I've had where the tires didn't last to 45k or 50k... Though, I don't think I've ever had Continentals before.

The stock tires have a tread life warranty. Check with a dealer to see
the warranty .

From what I learned on this forum - Replaced the OEM Pirelli Scorpion ATR the day it arrived off transport before I ever took delivery. Opportunity to upgrade size and type and brand........ See my signature for link....

Yes but for me the OEM Pirelli Scorpion ATR tires worked very well for the 25k miles. For my purposes these tires were great but as expected not long lasting. My expectations were low and those OEM tires met that expectation. ?

There's plenty of info out there on the web to back this claim up. I didn't make it up. But, disagreements make this country great!! Cheers!

Bet your explorer’s Pirelli Scorpions are a higher quality, better spec’d tire than the Bronco Sport’s Pirelli Scorpions

I’m sure you know it is not the name stamped on the tire that determines its longevity … many other factors

however both the standard OE Continentals and OE Pirelli Scorpions (as well as a few others used on Bronco Sports) are reported by many owners to be non-long lasting tires. Mine for example were rotated with oil changes around 5k miles and wore out at 25.4k.

However many owners seem pretty happy with the optional factory Falken Wildpeak AT3w OEM (part# 59000690) tires.

Keep in mind the Contis only came with 8/32 tread depth. Your replacement tires somewhere around 12/32 or greater. Plus the Contis are all season, not all terrain, meaning a softer tread hence the lousy wear. I had to swap mine out at less than 20k. I do drive a bit hard.
