We have a 2021 BS Big Bend and the center screen went blank a couple days ago. The radio still works. We have tried turning it off and on, restarted the vehicle several times and did the process shown in the pic. Still no luck. Anyone have any tricks?

** my wife thought it turned off from being too hot. Not sure that would cause it, but it has obviously cooled down since.

Have you tried this?

That was the first thing she tried. She has also tried all the different variations of the previous mentioned process.

I had that problem before and resetting the radio only works one in 5 times for me. What fixed my issue was a ford sync update. Apparently i missed an important update due to wifi not being able to connect after multiple attempts.

she is going to try and open the Ford app on her phone with it plugged into the usb. Maybe she can find an update to upload. Otherwise, Ford is already scheduled to be at our house on the 20th to do 2 recalls and we will just have them fix it then.

If you mean the FordPass App … that doesn’t have capability to update Sync

But it sure would be handy if you could plug in your phone into the USB Port, download the Sync update from the Ford website and via the phone update Sync over USB. But that’s not supported either.

well that sucks. I guess we will have to wait for the Ford techs to try and figure it out. Thank you

The button press you describe is a SYNC "soft" reset. You might consider disconnecting the battery for about 15 minutes. That should result in a SYNC "hard" reset.

What i meant before of updating the ford sync was to connect your car to a wifi then it will download ford sync into the radio if there is an update.
It’s in one of the setting options to do that. I have mine always connected when the car reaches home and it auto-connects to the wifi and downloads updates by itself.

Here is a video just in case. Also other symptom that it was an outdated ford sync causing the issue, normally the radio starts with the bronco video but that never completes and just turns black screen and plays the last radio station you had before shutting the car down.
let me know how it goes.

Can you send over a message with your VIN and estimated mileage? I would like to look into your screen concerns on my end.

I’m having the same problem with my BS. The screen is black sometimes. Sometimes the rear camera stays on while driving. Sometimes the screen is blue for extended periods after turning the vehicle off. There is an opt out pop up that keeps popping up even though I answer the question every time. This all started about 3-4 weeks ago and it’s getting worse. The infotainment system is just shot right now.

Try making sure to upgrade your ford sync. Connect your car wifi to your home wifi and the download updates. I had the exact same problem which was resolved by a ford sync software update.

it says it has the latest updates. I feel like it updated automatically recently and that’s when the issues started.

Hmmm that sucks…Another thing to try is do a hard reset.
Press the power button plus the right search track button for a few seconds and the radio should restart with the bronco logo completing its cycle.
