I have a newer 2023 bronco sport. Just hit 25,000km. It starting making a noise so I took it into get an oil change as I thought that’s why the noise was happening. I got it into an oil change on a Thursday and by Sunday the noise was still happening so I had my partner look at it as he is good with cars. He found there was no oil in the car at all.

Don't run it with no oil in it and i hope you have no engine damage but i bet you probably do!!Did it still make noise right after the oil change on Thursday?IMO i would be looking for a serious oil leak!!

If there's any truth to this, have it towed back to the dealership and have them inspect it.

Omg, don't run it with no oil! Even just for the video to demonstrate the sound. You've got an oil leak somewhere so they'll have to test your system at the dealership. I've seen some folks with bad plugs, gaskets, and seals on their Sports. Hopefully it's a small issue with an easy fix, but whatever you do, do not drive it.

Could be that whoever is doing your oil change is only putting in 5qts as if it had a metal oil pan instead of the 6+qts for the plastic oil pan if that is what it has.
I am not sure if 5qts of oil would show on the dip stick for BS's with the larger oil pan or not.

I never leave the Ford Dealership without first opening the hood and checking the engine compartment. I have experienced the oil cap not replaced and after an oil change I check the oil level. I have experienced several time where the Tech has left oil on my door panels and handle and I make the Service Writer clean my oily areas to remind them of how much They charge me and How much I care about my SUV. The Techs do a good job but are interested in getting to the next job and sometimes get sloppy. This is in no way meant to excuse them but at a dealership they are expected to complete a job quickly. If there were reliable independents and I keep searching
I would use one. Unfortunately not all independents plug your service information into the vin so under warranty claims Ford may refuse to honor even the paperwork proving service .

You may use the FordPass app to log maintenance not completed at a dealership. You can upload a copy of the completed work order via the app to serve as documentation.

Which was why I said to call the dealership and have it towed there.

I can think of three scenarios: mechanic forgot to put oil in the engine, oil drain plug was left off or did not have a crush washer (if required), or the gasket on the oil filter was defective (extremely rare). Some drain plugs require a crush washer. The crush washer is made of soft metal and works like a gasket; you use these only once and if you do reuse them, they can leak. I have only had one issue with filter gaskets and that was on my Triumph TR-6 that required a separate O-ring. You can also minimize issues with the filter if you use a dab of Dow Corning DC4 silicone grease on the filter gasket before twisting it on. I am surprised that you would not seen some kind of error code or light on the display. The dealership would be responsible for the damage.

There is no obvious oil leak, or any large amount of oil on the ground. It was still making the noise after the oil change as well

There is no obvious oil leak or oil under my car so I’m assuming it’s not a leak.

Make sure to ask if the tech knows what he doing long story short found low oil on my 23 twice back to back and it ended up being the same tech and he had shorted both times.
