Great choice of year and color ?
Thanks for showing us your selection of the upgrades. Love them all! I made the mistake of using a ceramic coating on my hood scoop to try to match the finish on my flared fenders, big mistake! Looked amazing for about a week, but It’s too glaring in the sun and starting to peel off. Now have to get it cleaned off without destroying it. Where did you order all your cool stuff from? Was it all actually from Ford?

Didn't like the switches that came with the lights, so yesterday I installed the RC rocker switches.

Today was audio day. This is quite possibly the worst radio I have had in a car so I needed a little more oomph. Maybe the decades of playing live music has killed my ears, but trying to clearly hear music with the windows down in this car was a challenge.

Here's what I went with after speaking with Crutchfield:

Hertz DCX 170.3 6.75in speakers in all four doors.

For these to fit I needed Metra 72-5602 wiring harnesses and Metra 82-5605 speaker mounting brackets. The brackets must be modified by cutting out the notches if you go with this speak size. Easy to do and in the included instructions.

Door panel removal was simple, despite Ford using three different bolt sizes throughout each door panel.

The difference in the factory speakers and the ones I installed....

I also installed a powered sub., I went with the Rockford Fosgate P300-10.

I placed this in the cargo area. For the main power, I ran from the battery and through the driver door grommet as I did with the lights. I routed to the back via the paneling on the driver side.

Crutchfield sold me a LOC which I am returning. After research, I just went with the High signal. I did this by tapping into the speaker wires in the drivers side B Pillar. I ground to the rear seat bolt and pulled 12V power from the wiring harness under the spare tire. The power wire is a purple/red thick wire in the harness.

Here is the final install, secured with the provided velcro strips.

After all the hard work of the past few days, I am finally done (FOR NOW). It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love it. I love the hard work I put into it myself. Its beautiful to me, functional for me, and sounds incredible!

Happy to help if anyone gets stuck during any of their mods as I have pretty much taken this thing apart the past few days!

How do you like the Hertz DCX 170.3's? How do they sound on their own without the sub? I've been considering the same speakers, as well as the X170's, for a while as they are the ones that stand out to my ears when using the "Compare and Listen" feature on their website using my Audio Technica M40X headphones. I just haven't gotten around to ordering them yet. I'd like to get a sub, too, but I don't really want to give up the space and if there's enough bass to get by I can settle.. I would imagine anything sounds better than the base system. I'd love to get your feedback on the system without and with the sub.. Thanks for posting this and sharing with the gang.

They have a great sound in my opinion. With the sub, incredible as I do think they lean towards excelling on the high end. They hold their own with the sub turned off though. Major major improvement over the base system. I think you will be pleased.

Thanks for the review. That confirms it for me as it's reassuring coming from someone whose ears have been through the same kind of abuse as my own.
