I have a 2022 BS with 17k miles. on Friday I was picking up my kid from school the car shut off and when I tried to start it back up the dash lit up like a Christmas tree flickered and would not start. It kept telling me to press the brake to start the car but then I got park break fault service now alert on the dash. I let the car sit for a bit and was able to remote start it and get on my way. this happened again Saturday night. This time when I tried to remote start the car i got an error message on the ford app saying the car was in ”deep sleep mode“ additionally the break pedal felt stiff same thing after a bit of letting sit 5 minutes or so the remote start worked and the car started normally after that. I’m taking the vehicle to the dealer tomorrow morning .

Something similar happened to my 2021 Big Bend. Here's my original post about it. Based on what the service manager told me, good thing you're taking it in ASAP.

Update: took the Sport to a dealership. All "U codes"/communications codes involving "half" of the onboard modules. They updated the PCM software and I was on my way.

The service advisor said there's a documented issue in their system that presents similar symptoms -- car won't start, a bunch of warnings flash on the dash -- but with a different set of error codes. This is due to a faulty transmission wiring harness and according to the service manager can cause the vehicle to die even while driving. So if anyone else experiences the issues described in this thread, you should take your Sport to a Ford dealer to make sure your wiring harness isn't defective.

Many have also reported similar symptoms ultimately traced to a battery malfunction.

Just dropped it off at the dealer now. I had a video recording and photos of the dash to show the service advisor. He told me he has already seen in a few Bs and the fix is to replace the alternator and battery , and update the PCM software But it would take two weeks for the part ?

Alternator too. Hmmm. First time I've heard that one. Please let us know how it works out.

I use the auto start/stop feature and when it quits working, I know my battery is low. You also need to read up on how to charge the battery before the shunt that measures current going into and out of the battery. If you don't, my understanding is that the computer will still thing the battery is low.

Just an update I finally picked up my BS today. the following trouble codes were found U0131 and U3003 In multiple module. The battery was measured at 12.3 volts the primary battery was the point of concern as it had low cold cranking amps and a low state of charge. The battery was replaced, battery system reset and all trouble codes were cleared. So far I haven’t had any issues since this morning but I will keep everyone updated.

thanks for all the help!
