I am seeing this through Ford Pass

There is a possibility that a fuel injector may crack on ANY engine, not just yours. There is no evidence (as yet) that the injectors in your car are any more prone to cracking than those in any other vehicles.

If this recall were about faulty fuel injectors the fix would be to replace them. That's not what it's about.

Motor break in, I was told to take it in at 2k and 5k for oil changes ?‍♂
If they told you to jump off a bridge, would you do that to? Engines don't come with "break in" oil like the old days. No need to change it any sooner than any other time.

Ford doesn't want to spend that much to fix their mistakes ?‍♂
If you have no proof of this then you're just making it up. Why would you do that? You realize fomenting rumors like this do not improve the resale value of your vehicle, right? Why do it?

If this were not an issue would ford announce "your injectors may crack" and they want to put a hose in to dump the fuel in case they do, look on the threads, there has been many instances of the big bend specificly having this issue, far more than normal, but not enough for ford to reason the necessity of completely replacing them

I recognize that but as Rocks said, a feel good process

Sad. Very sad.
I agree, but I get it, a 60 dollar repair for us is probably closer to half a million for all affected vehicles combined. (Random number, didn't actually do the math)

This subject has been discussed ad nauseum. If you search "fuel injector recall" (yes, that's not the name of the recall, but that's what people titled their threads), you can spend days reading up on the reasons and explanations why Ford is taking the approach they are.

I didn't read all the threads but when a company says one of their parts may crack and cause a problem, that just isn't right. Correct the problem. They did enough to prevent a fire where it would cost the company a ton of money if a fire hurt or killed someone. The beancounters just went with the cheap fix doing the drain.

You joined this forum two weeks ago; look at my join date. You think I haven't read all the threads on this issue? If you still think this recall is about cracked injectors it's pretty clear who hasn't done the reading.

For the record, there is no data available to the public that shows the fuel injectors used in Ford's 1.5L engine are substandard. There is not even ANECDOTAL evidence to suggest the injectors are any lower quality than those used by other manufacturers. If there were, the NHTSA would have required Ford to replace them. Parts fail, even new parts. These are mechanical devices made by human beings--they cannot be perfect.

This issue is still under study, and it may end up that Ford decides to replace injectors, but that hasn't happened yet. Given this recall has been ongoing for almost a year, I'm fairly certain both Ford and NHTSA have determined there is nothing wrong with the injectors.

You didn't read enough. Any part can fail. Ford will not replace injectors unless it has evidence those it installed are faulty. Vehicle fires generate a ton of bad press. If you think Ford isn't concerned about it you're smoking crack. Further, is performing this work in coordination with the NHTSA.

There is no evidence I'm aware of that the fuel injectors Ford installed in 1.5L engines are faulty.

I've spent enough time debating the point. There's two schools of thought and one side will never convince the other of their view. Good luck.
