Went to Quicklane at my Ford dealer for an oil change and aside from trying to sell me everything under the sun the could offer ($80 for a cabin air filter!? $180 for Decarbonizing!? Come on!) They tell me my coolant is getting low. I look at the overflow when I get home and it low... (aside from wondering if they actually removed any...) which seems odd for only 9K miles. Anyone else have anything like this? Nothing notable going on to expect anything. I'm about to top it off when it cools down and monitor it.

Several forum users had defective water pumps replaced. The first symptom was low coolant level. I would crawl under and see if you can smell coolant. If you don't know what coolant smells like open the reservoir under the hood and take a sniff--it's a pretty distinctive smell. If you smell coolant while under the engine (you may not see a leak) then either your pump is failing or you have a leak elsewhere. Either way, you'll need a trip to a Ford service center.

If you don't smell coolant then I would start checking the coolant at least weekly. If it drops below the min line within a month it's time for service visit.

I have to make an appointment for the the fuel injector recall as is, so I will as them to take a look at this as well.

What happened before or did it just fail?
Coolant level was below the minimum line mid-February and again at the end of March. Faint coolant smell upon exiting the vehicle. It took the dealership 3 weeks and over 100 miles of driving to pinpoint the leaking water pump.

I think I read somewhere that the serpentine on the 1.5 doesn't have a tensioner pulley and is just fixed position? So many 1.5 pumps are failing. Must be applying too many ugga duggas at the factory.

Is the water pump issue mainly on the 1.5?

Anyone with a Badlands have water pump issues?

Yep I did a lot of research on this subject myself because I wanted to be prepared to have to talk the service advisors just incase I got the dreaded "We cant seem to replicate the issue" treatment. I knew damn well what it was lol.

Just got my water pump replaced for the SECOND TIME on Monday. First at ~20k miles, this at ~35k miles. Was told it was leaking around the weep hole. Just ordered a BL to try to get away from this issue. I'd like to drive a BS for 200k miles, and at this rate, that would be 10+ water pumps.
