My Badlands has a new (around two months old) set of Bridgestone Blizzak DMV2 winter tires on it.

I live in Wisconsin so we’ve had plenty of opportunity to drive on snow and ice.

My previous vehicle, a 2019 Escape Titanium AWD, had the same type of winter tire (a different size) fitted for three winters, so we have some experience with them.

Even on their third winter season the Blizzaks were awesome on the Escape. Hardly any slipping, fishtailing or skidding.

The experience with the new set on the Bronco Sport hasn’t been the same. Yes, they are still good but we have experienced a lot more fishtailing and skidding. They don’t seem like the same tire. They don’t inspire the same level of confidence.

I don’t know if quality has dropped or if it has more to do with the difference in tire size or vehicle.

I would have rated the original set 10/10. This set? 7/10.

Did your Escape have the 2.0L engine? More power makes for more wheelspin. Other factors that might affect differences in stability are the 4WD system, wheelbase, length, and ride height. The Escape is lower, longer and narrower, which contributes to straight-line stability.

The Escape had the 2.0 as well.

I have those tires in size 215/70r17 first winter with them on my badland or any other vehicle. No fishtailing yet and they feel very grippy in snow. I live in northern Canada. We normally experience a lot of snow but this year it's too warm we didn't had much yet. One time I drove 300km in a blizzard with 3-4 inch of snow on the road and they ride like top quality winter tires. They are the best snow tires blizzak make. Not the best on ice though but decent. Maybe there was ice when you fishtailed.

I think a better evaluation would be the Badlands with and without the Blizzak tires. There's too many variables when you compare to a different vehicle.
