Hey Everyone,
I wanted to share my experience with the new 1.5 Inch Lift Kit from Rough Country.
I'm researching lifts for my wife's new BS BB. I've seen most of them are spacer lifts. But this particular Rough Country kit actually uses new longer lift struts and longer lift coils with matching shocks instead of spacers. Sounds like a much better option over spacers.

If mrrain318 is still around I'd love to hear a long term update on how this kit is holding up.

How are the shocks/dampers? How is the ride compared to stock? This seems like a better solution then spacers.
The road overall is very similar to the stock ones... you can tell the difference on bumps... feel even more stable with this kit....

The reviews on the RC site are favorable assuming they are real or not just cherry picked.

The lift should have been that style from the start.

They definitely censor their reviews, if you search many RC parts/kits on google you'll see something along the lines of 9 reviews with a 3.5 star rating in the google search results but then when you go to the site you'll see 4 reviews showing with a 5 star rating. Shady. While I do think this kit is much better than the puck lifts, only time will tell how these components fair over time and I doubt they're really geared towards off-roading, most likely more geared towards a lift with similar road going capabilities and manners.

Most people that buy lifts get them for the look they provide more so than the offroad performance aspect. Add large tires and rims and people have their look at me ride.

Nothing wrong with that, just a different use.

I completely agree with this, it's just that many people purchase RC products thinking they are designed to take serious off road abuse and for a lot of their products, probably including the strut kit, that's really not the case. They just don't know and it's a you get what you pay for type of scenario.

For people looking for an actual strut kit that increases off road performance something like Flat Out suspension is better suited but the price is commensurate with the quality and performance you're getting.

I hear ya'll and I agree.

I'm looking for a kit for my wife's BS BB. Her use consist of looking good and daily commute, with the occasional muddy 3/4 mile long driveway at our place in the country. lol!

A spacer type kit would probably be fine, but I like the idea of proper length springs and shocks and strut bodies and such. As long as those struts and shocks are decent quality to hold up at least as long as OEM stuff. Only time will tell though.

It'll be much easier to install if doing it yourself plus the front struts are at least slotted for minimal camber adjustment and if you want to return to stock it's a much more simple affair. I'm not sure with durability considering it's made in china and seems very cheap for what it is. You will at least be much less likely to experience noises than you would with a puck type lift kit from RC.

I will be doing the install myself. And I definitely know I don't want the puck style from RC. I'd probably go with the HRG 1.5 if I go the spacer kit route.
