It's important to talk to them about your plans. As long as you communicate with them it shouldn't be an issue.
I have I just don't trust anything they say right now

Glad to hear that some cars are getting closer! Sorry that yours is still stuck @Hooligan88, hope it gets unstuck soon!

Mine is currently in Conway, PA, and it’s been there since 5am. The UP report gives me a “Placed At Industry” estimate of September 2nd.

@Jenbeth how long has yours been off the train? If that 9/2 date is accurate, I’m trying to get a feel for how long the trucking process takes.

I’m not sure that it was originally off the train when it passed through Shelbyville, it might have been dropped off this morning on the way back to St. Louis. Ford says it is still in Madison, Illinois even though I have traced it all the way to Chattanooga and back to “Intermediate Arrival, Louisville, KY 8/31 at 8:33 AM (EST)” per NS and “Loaded Train Arrived, 8/31 at 7:33 AM (CST), Placed at Industry 9/6 at 6:59 PM” per UP.

I wish I knew what any of that meant. If anyone can decipher, please help.

I see you’re in Canada, I’m in Abbotsford BC awaiting delivery. My BB is in transit and is saying 29 days for delivery to the dealership. Is that your experience?

Or traveled through to Tennessee to drop it off on the way back? I don’t know, maybe it has been there since last Friday morning. Ford says it is still in Madison/St. Louis, but the only record arrivals at critical points, not departures. It is possible it was dropped off today at 8:33 AM and Ford had not yet update at 1:00(ish) when I chatted.

Ugh! Yeah, I agree. It seems they were being turned over really quickly so have been super bummed to not see it turned to shipped yet!

It would have continued on after whatever happened to it there. You can still track it, but the data would be meaningless concerning your vehicle which would no longer be associated with the autorack.
I did find this doc while looking for any information about ”intermediate arrival.“ It is of absolutely no practical use, but is interesting.

Was shelbyville your off-ramp? For me, United Road told me a while back an exact address in New Jersey where they’d be picking it up for the trucking part of the journey. Right now that’s showing up as “Placed At Industry” on Union Pacific railroad. I’ve been getting the faxes from their automated trace system, this is what it looks like:

Has yours ever said “Loaded Train Arrival”? Mine is saying the rail car number then “Loaded Train Arrival” August 31, 7:33 AM (then) ”Placed at Industry” September 3, 6:59 AM

Yes, that sounds familiar. I’ll double check the faxes to see if any of them say it but I do remember hearing it.
