Hello.
I am from Brazil and I bought a Bronco Sport 2.0, but it didn't arrive yet.
The main reason I did so is because here we have very bad highways. Even if they are main roads, connecting important places, they are usually very bad, only one lane per direction and full of potholes, imperfections, undulations and sharp turns.
I have a small VW Polo and driving it in these roads few unsafe, very bumpy and full of hard strikes in the suspension and sometimes flat tires. Sometimes I also drive a Jeep Compass, and it is better.
So, I would like to know your experience driving the Bronco Sport in this type of roads, it is a good option?
Thank you!

I'm sure many roads here won't compare. Driving our highways in Michigan, traffic cones are our state flower and traffic signs the state animal. Our governor has yet to live up to promises to fix the highways...hitting potholes still gives a good jolt but I'd guess the Badlands suspension is better designed to manage it vs a VW? Mind you I'm talking 70+ mph so if you travel moderate to slower speeds it may be appreciably better if that makes sense? High clearance, stiffer suspension, and thick tires will likely give you a much better ride. I consider it a soft version of the old land Rover/range Rover for obvious reasons.

Yes, these are the main reasons I got to choose the Bronco Sport, plus the extra security, 9 airbags... I also have driven a Jeep Compass and it is much better than my Polo. I guess the Bronco Sport will be even better.

Yes I'd 100% agree. My wife had a jeep compass and it didn't compare to the bronco sport. The sport is much smoother and had a better ride/capability in my opinion. I think you will be just fine

Thank you. Very nice to know.

How both compare regarding internal space, mainly regarding rearseats legroom? And what about performance in sharp turns? I read somewhere that the Bronco Sport was a little bit "bouncy" in these situations.

I've never had issues in sharp turns then again I'm not racing Le Mans? seat room, if you have front seats set comfortably there is plenty of room. The jeep may have a little more space but our son is 6'5" and sits in the back with no issues.

Thank you very much.

Me and my wife are 5' 7" so we shouldn't have problems!

I think the bronco isn’t even going to notice. I have had mine off-road and it just walked it. And it was much rougher than what I see in the pic. Now… flats are a different thing all together. I think that is going to be more tire choice and maybe a pressure thing. (Lower pressure?).

I was driving 25-30MPH over un-improved rutted and potted on the trail. I just had to be careful on some that would try to take the wheel.
just my 2 cents. I think you will be presently surprised.

Thank you for your answer. Nice to know. I said flat tire more in the sense of the tire being brutally ripped apart hitting a very deep pothole.

I have a badlands so it came with the extra few inches of lift. Taking a 90 degree turn at more than 30 you can feel the change in the center of gravity, but it hasnt been enough to make me worried. It is a top heavy suv type creature after all. They are not meant to drift.

I would be very careful taking even a 90 degree turn at speed on a bad road. If the outside tires suddenly drop lower than the inside tires you might have issues.

On the other hand the sport is very well built as if you do roll it there is a good chance you will live. The tires taking majoe damage would depend on the type of hole and the type of tire. Too many variations for a set in stone answer imo.
