a recall should be issued for your post
I don't get the angst over recalls. There's no such thing as a perfect production system, and if you want automakers to innovate that means new designs. New designs come with the risk of unforeseeable production problems. The recall system provides a way for automakers to innovate while still protecting customers from unforeseeable future issues. Recalls are a GOOD thing.

Ford Bronco Sport Recalls are Job 1 1659879560603
This listing is for 2022. Ford had 1 recall alone this year for over 3 million vehicles that could roll away. They historically have had the top 3 years with the most recalls and they consistently are at the top. They brought in new management this year to address it and still not good.

There is also an open case currently on the 2021 Bronco for “catastrophic engine failures” at highway speed.

Based on your own chart Tesla should be #1 at recalls

tesla just manufactured their 3 millionth vehicle and they have 2.25 million effected by recalls

ford on the other hand makes 2 million cars a year.

my vehicle had a recall. The 1.5L engine recall. Was a safety precaution. dealer checked it out during an oil change. No issue . I am glad they made the recall.

how would you like if manufacturers did not do recalls and you buy a defective vehicle and you never hear from the manufacturer that there is an issue with your vehicle? I don’t think you would like that

True. That's Bronco, not Bronco Sport.
You're right that Bronco Sport models have had a total of seven recalls. A majority are for 1,000 cars or less. One of them is for, like, 100 cars. Another one is about 150 cars. Devastating...

It's not a recall yet, it's an investigation. I'm doubtful it will become a recall since this is the same engine used in the F-150 and I haven't heard about a bunch of F-150 engines blowing up. The "failure at highway speed" seems like scare quotes to me; how is this a safety issue? If the engine munches itself you pull over. All of the affected vehicles should still be under warranty, so I don't see what a recall would accomplish.

But even if does become a recall my point still stands: I like innovation, and innovation involves risk. The recall system is an effective way to reduce the risks for consumers.

"Catastrophic engine failures” at highway speed is an attention grabbing headline. If I recall what actually is the problem was is a small batch of substandard parts from a vendor. Ford, due to supply constraints had to source valve spring retainers from an alternate vendor that they have subsequently discovered did not meet manufacturing specs and are capable of failure allowing a valve to drop into the cylinder and subsequently destroy the piston, head and possibly the block. They are just investigating this lot of engines built with the valve retainers. The 2.7 engine is a proven design used in several models for years.

Even Honda and Toyota have had their share of major defects lemons. Remember Toyota sticking gas pedals? 2006-2008 Honda Civic engine blocks cracking (I owned one)? I know someone had Camry they bought new used quart of oil every 1,000 miles and Toyota said normal not gonna fix it. Tacoma truck frames rusting to nothing. Numerous other examples too.

Go to carcomplaints.com and look around and you'll see.

Did I ever tell you about my '14 Honda CRV I bought new grind on start timing chain issue? Honda had a fix but it didn't fix it and usually ended up with oil leaks and other problems. So only real fix is get rid of it.

So if you"all think you can avoid defects by buying other brands go ahead keep living in fantasy land.
