Hi all,
First of all, no disrespect to anyone with a Bronco Sport with a missing engine cover. I see this brought up a lot on the forum and wonder, "what's the deal with this missing cover?" I have a '21 Big Bend 1.5L and it has the engine cover and I may have seen the square piece of rubber once when I installed a catch can, other than that I don't ever lift the hood. I was never aware that it was there until it was brought up in the forum. I get my maintenance done by the dealer.
I don't understand the purpose of it but to hide the little engine, but I don't understand why Ford would leave it off either, besides cost savings. Maybe if the 1.5L had a cool looking turbo and piping I would want to open the hood and show off the engine bay. Once again, I don't want to anger anyone who didn't get the engine cover, just wanted to see why it is such a popular item on the forum.
