Are your flood lights on in the cargo.. not sure if they turn off with fob since manually turns on
They weren't last time I checked, but I'll make sure to double check. Yeah sometimes at night I'll notice I forget to turn the interior lights off or something and normally I'm pretty good about it, I'll make sure those pesky ones aren't on either.

Wow, a load test would show the batteries condition, for example:
State of charge,
Available CCA (Cold Cranking Amps)
State of charge after the CCA test, that shows Recovery ability.
You can do all that at most any Car Quest or Autozone or Napa or Orileys parts store, to name but a few.
Carquest gives me a printout. I do it every fall and keep the printout to compare with each year.
If/when my battery gets anywhere near the 60% level I change it out.
That’s usually in the fourth fall.
If my dealer could not find the problem with something as basic as the charging and battery system I’d find me another dealer.
Seems some of you young whipper snappers were never taught the most basic rule of auto repair.
Proper diagnostics.
The second biggest mistake is
Part swapping. Very costly.
The lesson is right here in this thread.
That fancy overpriced yellow topped battery ain’t worth a crap without a proper diagnostic test.
Weirdly enough, the dealer I bought the car from must've retired because they were bought out by one of their fellow dealers from one of the next towns over. That being said, before they were pretty competent workers but things might've changed if a lot of the staff did since then. I think that's the first thing I'm gonna do when I get the car back is go get it battery tested, truth be told I've only ever done it in the past if I've had issues but your post shows me it certainly can be a great preventative maintenance tool to help you catch issues before they arise! Thanks for your reply

Welp yeah, it's been pretty much identical here then, gonna have to consider that as a remedy. Has it gone back into deep sleep mode ever since you changed it out?
Nope. No more issues. You do need to reset the body control module to recognize the different battery type and reset the BMS.

So I just got the car back today and I'm gonna post a lot of information here to give a comprehensive update of what was done, what the dealer noticed, what I noticed, and what issues are still lingering:

1.) Transceiver Replacement for "No Key Detected" Issue-
So this was the issue that arose after I tried jumping the bronco the 2nd time. This I believe was unrelated to anything battery related going on. They replaced the transceiver, then reset the system to factory defaults. They said they were able to start it up without any problems and it didn't have any issue dying overnight while it sat there. That being said, during the duration of this thing sitting at the Ford dealership, my FordPass app sent me notifications 5 times that the vehicle was entering Deep Sleep Mode because of a critically low battery. To me this sounds like it wasn't giving me accurate information if they were starting it fine while it was there.

2.) SYNC Update Installed, Noticed Something Peculiar Here
So when I got the vehicle back, because it was having issues with what I believed was my failed attempt to download an update with the SYNC system. I went in and checked to see what was going on and when I hit "Check for Updates", it began trying to download the update from last time once more. It got about half way done with the "download" portion of the update, then it said "System update completed" in an instant, just like last time. I didn't believe it was truly completed though cause of my past experience, so I turned the car off, turned it back on, and sure enough it began resuming the download of the update that was supposedly complete. Then that "download" turned into "installing". For this update I had to turn the car off probably 4 times because it kept saying "System Update Complete" during the download phase and it was in fact NOT complete. After it hit the install phase though, it then found a second update to install, and for the second one I fortunately didn't have to turn the car off multiple times to get it to download fully and install. This second update I believe updated flawlessly and I will see if it has any issues moving into the coming days. This took about 2 hours to download and install both of these updates.

3.) Battery Issues
The main issue that all of this has been causing, the battery being dead back to back times when I went to start the car, apparently wasn't an issue for the dealer. They fully charged the battery and couldn't get it to replicate the issues I was having. They did a parasitic draw test on the system and found any draw that was occurring once the car was turned off was within specs. I was hopeful upon hearing this that everything was in the clear, EXCEPT...

I took it for a test drive to see if the auto start-stop function worked as one of the posters in this forum mentioned. It does NOT. There is also an Auto Start Stop function display screen in the display screen menu, so I pulled this up to see if it could give me any information about why it's not working. When I come to a stop and the auto stop should kick on, it changes from "Engine On, Normal Operation" to "Engine on due to vehicle charging." This is very peculiar to me because I was running the car for approximately 2 hours prior to this to download and install those updates. How could it not be charged? So I went to Autozone to get the battery tested. The printout they gave me said the State of Charge was 100% and it was a Good Battery. I hooked my scan tool up to the OBDII port as well and the voltage for the battery was listed at 14.136 volts.

That being said, one of the posters in here mentioned something about the BCM (Body Control Module I believe they said) needing to be reset... I'm waiting for a call back from the dealer to address this. I am confident that once these modules are reset, it should hopefully resolve whatever issues I'm experiencing. We shall see. I will keep you guys posted, thank you very much for your help and all your suggestions and comments in helping me resolve this, computers suck sometimes when they cause these problems and I appreciate all the advice in trying to resolve them.

Great feedback and experience I hope your issue is resolved and possibly helps others down the road.

I'm having this issue with my 3 week old badlands model. Was fine, 3 nights ago, go out next morning everything dead, no electronics no beeps only thing working were the over head lights. I did get to start, by using Manuel sort of a force start, and let idle, still no electronics etc..fird pass app said everything fine, but it would immediately shut off when I dialed to try to move, reverse, etc. Ideas??? At the dealer now, on its 3rd day there, still assessing.

Load checking a battery doesn't always catch a borderline bad battery and Ford will not authorize a dealer warranty replacement if it passes.
New 2000 Ranger was good for 3 weeks before it failed to start, jumped then charged. 2 days later the same thing. Took it in and they load checked it and found nothing. 3 days later same thing, dealer said it's ok and sent me on my way.
Few days later it wouldn't start and as I've had enough of the BS I called service and had them tow it. 2 hours later they called for me to pick it up finding no problem, I laughed and told them that at some point they would tire of the towing expense and providing a loaner.
Next day same crap, they towed it and finally replaced the battery. Service manager meet me at pickup the next day and thanked me for being patient and told me they changed the oil, rotated the tires and washed it free plus two free oil change coupons. Never failed again.
Based on the dealer issues I read there, those were the good old days.

Sounds like the same issues the Hybrid/PHEV Escape owners are having. Their thought was that the battery was a wee bit small and there was a bug that when being wall charged the 12V would lose power causing the Deep Sleep issue.

In my 21 OB, I was getting that message routinely when the car would be sitting for 3-4 days while I was out of town. I changed it to an OEM AGM battery and moved it over to my BL and have not had the issue pop up so far.

Maybe that's the solution?

So update yesterday is a control module replacement, equipment failure. It wasn't anything that we did so that's good, but just to be on the safe side they are replacing part and then recheck, so baby b will be in shop for a Few more days.

Here’s an Idea.
Three weeks old,
Take it in to your dealer.
They have this thing called a warranty.
:’P
