No idea. I've put 640 miles on mine in 3.5 months. I may never find out that it's not built well.
2.5 months / 141 miles
making excuses to go for a ride
break in period might be a few years

2021 Badlands picked up in February 21. I love it, extremely well built, the only concern I have is the paint. Had paint issues around the head and taillights, which the dealer fixed and no problems so far, but first pebble to hit the hood caused a chip. The other day I pulled off some dried tree residue and paint came with it. On my previous F-150 I could use a rake to wash it and never had paint issues. Other than that awesome quality!

Not to give away my age but.... my first car when in college was a 1954 used Ford. I've had numerous cars since then but my latest is the Bronco Sport. Guess I have come complete circle.
...age may be similar. My first car... senior year of HS... a used, blue/white 1955 Chrysler Windsor Deluxe. I have this old advertisement hanging in my office, and those are my actual keys!

Indeed, back to the fit and finish Q! Overall, good. Have owned a Ford Edge (previous gen) as well as a Ford Escape (2 gen ago, when it was still nice and boxy). Tried to keep expectations tempered... Well a friend worked for a company where they had a small fleet of Ford Edges (current gen) and the entire fleet (yes, entire fleet) had engine problems (previous gen 2 ltr turbos)... My friend in particular got stranded in NJ on a company trip when the Edge just gave out on him. On the flip side, also have a friend who is a product manager for the Explorer :)

Anyway, back to the BS, main issues revolve around rattles and vibrations:
  • Sunroof: creaks when closed up to about 1/3 open... once opened beyond that point creaking goes away (plan to silicon grease the heck out of it once spring pollen is gone)
  • Dash: right behind center screen... FIXED by adding a lot of felt tape to the cover piece behind screen
  • Passenger side C-pillar: this one has me stumped, maybe its the door (but seems near the roof area too), comes randomly, more a vibrating sound vs squeak
Plastics quality could definitely be better, but was not expecting a luxury vehicle! Traded in an Acura RDX for the BS and interior assembly did feel more buttoned down/tight fitting in the Acura (which had no squeaks/rattles).

Knock on the wood, but other than the rattles things have been good with the nearly 5k miles on my 1/2022 build BS OB.

Overall very happy with the BS, it's a great compact and capable daily driver SUV (averaging 28.8 mpg btw) - perfect complement to a weekend fun car that will hopefully be in the garage soon!

im very pleased. 9/10

I’ve noticed the hood thing but it’s very minimal

to Be fair and subjective… I’d need to drive a new Jeep, Subaru or Rav to compare and I haven’t .
On the road, you can barely see it move even at speeds up to 90 MPH.

In the car wash, you can't hear it making any sound at all because when it's moving it's because there's high pressure air blowing on the Bronco to dry it quickly and the wind sound is all you can hear.

Years ago my '16 F150 double panel sunroof squeaked rattled. I cleaned the sunroof opening and applied Dielectric Grease to the seal and opening. Been quiet for years. I did later order some of that Ford specified synthetic grease. So if it ever makes noise again I will use that instead.

When my F150 sunroof squeaked rattled the sounds bounced around the interior wasn't easy to determine the source of the noise.

Ah, yes, actually found the YouTube on that fix and tried it... Unfortunately didn't fix -> clue was with sunroof 1/3 open it still creaked with none of the seals making contact. Have actually tried that fixed twice thinking maybe wasn't liberal enough with the grease...

Anyway, another BS owner noted that basically lubricating the heck out of the sunroof brackets/bracing/etc. worked. That's gonna be my next attempt

Everyone keeps saying body gaps are perfect. But my hood is unaligned. My driver front door is unaligned.. my back glass is about a 1/16 in to the left... ive read of a bunch of people with gap issues.. i feel like just because people own the car they just defend it...
Sounds like you got one built during a holiday. Bc I have zero of these issues. My VW Arteon is basically
Specialty team built in Germany and fit and finish is perfect. Our Bronco Sport is just as spot on as the German small number car.

So far very impressed with mine. Ended up not getting the moon roof due to ordering issues and actually happy I didn’t and have greater roof capacity without it.

21 Badlands in Cyber O. No complaints at all, coming up on 10k miles. Not finished as well as the VW Tiguan it replaced, but better than the last Ford we bought in 2003. It's much more fun to drive than the VW, and so far we are very happy with it. We just do gravel roads and easy trail with it and some snow in the winter.

The Mexican production workers take pride in their work, they are limited by Ford's trying to build these trucks as cheap and fast as possible.
my experiences agree...friend of mine, parents came straight from Mexico decades ago, electricians. They rewired an older house of mine, flawless. When the inspector came to approve it, they knew who the electrician was based on the bends and style of wiring entering the box...he was that good and that meticulous. Did half the work for a bottle of tequila I had purchased in Mexico years ago, hard to find, worth every penny. Pride is an understatement. Hardworking cultural values.
