That is weird, maybe a forum monitor changed my post? I just copied/pasted the title of the article, highlighted it, clicked the link icon, pasted the link to the article, clicked OK, and then clicked Post Reply. It seems that everything I posted has been replaced.

I'm seeing a bunch of marked up prices on the Ford Accessories site compared to Yakima, for example. The prices are marked up 20%. Sus.

They probably intended on posting this and you beat them to it, so they just replaced your text with their own.

Also, no love for AZ. Guess I'm not ordering any discounted stuff. 🙃

I don't really mind, but it would be nice to at least place a notice that they had edited it.

Yeah, but you can't use points on the Ford website so you have to go someplace local and use them. I am really, really considering the Curt fixed hitch cargo carrier. Normal Ford's overprice is $259. Discount brings it to $207/free dealer pickup. With 42,000 Ford points burning a hole in my app, the points will completely cover it. I get mixed information on points expiration, but I think they do expire. So hey, free carrier and $3 goes to the wind.

I just went to my dealership and showed the discount. They honored it and then I paid with points.
Yeah, I'm glad my dealership price matches to avoid that ordering online nonsense.

And to share the rest of my experience with this. The dealerships say the code AUG20 is a Ford website thing so they don't honor it. They will take my points but not give the 20%. Currently planning trips to other dealerships to see if any will honor the 20%. Still can't use points on websites.

EDIT: Went to a third dealer Friday afternoon and the clerks were willing to adjust price to the 20% off price. Using points was a breeze, just gave them the associated email address. Fingers crossed but I think it worked out with persistence.

Just FYI, if you haven't ordered the cargo carrier yet, I got the same one from NAPA for $141 delivered. Over $100 less than Ford's regular price.

If you were able to get 20% off from Ford, then that's not bad because as you said, we have to spend the points on something.

I'm still trying to figure out what to buy that hopefully is not too overpriced.

I usually prefer ordering online. Is there some hassle ordering Ford accessories online?

When possible, I like getting stuff delivered to our gate.

I gather that with Ford that's not possible? Delivery to the dealer only?

There is an option to deliver to your home, you just have to pay for the shipping. Usually, shipping to the dealership is free.

Thanks Meanderthal. That's what I had seen.

I was mainly responding to what bjbena said:

"Yeah, I'm glad my dealership price matches to avoid that ordering online nonsense."

That had me wondering what he meant by 'nonsense' -- if there was something I should be aware of.
