Bought our '21 BS BB used in February. Husband went on errands this morning and saw crack in windshield. Just got it back last week from having it ceramic coated, it was not there then. We drove it over the weekend and wasn't there then. Sigh...

He and I have been driving for 50+ years each, and neither of us have ever had a windshield replaced in any vehicle, Ford or otherwise...

Called our insurance agent, they are contacting Safelite for replacement...fingers crossed.

My wife and I have been driving almost 60 years and we've both experienced a handful of chips and cracks over the years. That's why I installed the AVS Aeroskin on my BSBB since it has a more upright slant than windshields on other vehicles. I've always had the repairs done by Safelight. Not only have they been quality repairs, but they actually come your location with all the equipment needed to patch a chip or replace an entire windshield. My GEICO Insurance covers windshield repairs with no deductible and have always been reliable.

Our own experiences...My husband has a 2009 F150, no bug shield...no windshield replacement or cracks

My son has a 1998 Ford Explorer he drives daily...no windshield replacement or cracks

I had a 1984 Bronco II for 12 years that I drove across country a few times and up through the Rockies....no windshield replacement or cracks. That was a pretty upright windshield.

Before we traded it in on the Bronco Sport, we had a 2014 Ford Explorer...one chip in windshield we repaired, no cracks

We did install a Weathertech bug guard last week, before the crack appeared.

I am hopeful seeing the numbers of windshield cracks in new and fairly new Bronco Sports in this forum that our experiences give Ford some input as to if this is a real problem that needs addressed systemically or just the results of various driving conditions...

I've had to replace multiple windshields on multiple vehicles over the years (including hitting a Raven at 80 mph!). Live anywhere where it snows and they "sand" the roads (more like gravel) and you will get lots of chips. To me tailgaiting isn't so much a factor as most of the stuff that has done the damage has come from vehicles approching me. Cheers!

It’s never fun dealing with chips, especially on a brand-new car. I had a similar situation with my own vehicle, where I kept getting chips in random places. It’s frustrating, especially when repairs make it worse. I even had to deal with some intense etching on my tech parts using phosphoric acid etching solutions for silicon wafers once, and the process felt like a never-ending headache.

Just had mine replaced last month from rock hitting windshield. I have replaced a windshield every other year for the past 6 years here in Northern Pennsylvanian. They all have been fords of one type or another. My ins. paid for most of them.
