Howdy all. I put the Harbor Freight cross bars on my BS the other day. The wind here was blowing pretty good (10 to 20 knots). I noticed a whistle from the cross bars. So is there any way to get rid of it. I placed the at the two screws on the front and rear.

Thanks

It sounds like you need a wind fairing. Popular brands make these to attach to your front cross bar to reduce drag and turbulent air flow across your vehicle.

Did you have to do any modifications to make them fit?

No I did not. The clamps need to be unscrewed almost all the way. They fit tight over the rail I had to tap them with my palm to get it on. The jaws are soft so no damage was done. I like the idea they lock on, but it is just a little plastic piece that slides up to block the hole the Allen key goes in.
