Weekly Roll Call on Production (Week of 1/03/2021)

Got the call yesterday that my Bronco Sport arrived and picked it up today. To finish this exercise, here is my final timeline:

- 8/30: Ordered
- 10/5: Received email from Ford indicating schedule week of 11/22/21
- 11/24: Received email from Ford indicating schedule changed to week of 12/6/21
- 11/20: No new emails from Ford since 11/24, but tracker now shows "in Production" but no production date or ETA date
- 12/7am: No new emails from Ford since 11/24, tracker still shows "In Production" but tracker now shows a production date of 12/6/21 & an ETA date of 1/6/22
- 12/7pm: Received email from Ford indicating our Bronco has been built. ETA on tracker still shows 1/6/22.
- 12/9: Tracker says shipped (no email from Ford yet confirming that) and ETA still says 1/6/22
- 12/10: Received email from Ford indicating Bronco has been shipped. ETA on tracker still 1/6/22.
- 1/7: Got a call from my salesperson indicating my Bronco Sport was there. Picked it up the next day.

My order was: Badlands + Premium Pkg + Moonroof + Cargo Mgt + Co-Pilot 360 + Cargo Mat/Floor Liners

One interesting twist is mine came with a gray roof, even though I never ordered it. It's not noted on the window sticker nor did I see that code on my order confirmation. The dealer cannot figure out how that happened. Given the primary color was already Carbonized Gray my wife liked it with the gray roof just fine (her vehicle) so we elected to take it as-is instead of waiting 4-5 months for another one.

Is your gray roof a color match to the body? For 2022 the gray over gray was NA and I had to change my order to black roof. You may have a rare example.

Yes, the roof matches the body perfectly. I even used my cell phone flashlight to make sure it had the same metallic paint flake pattern as the body. LOL...

Wow yes, that must be a rare error, as it seems CG body is the one color you can’t choose a CG roof with (though you could choose black with a black roof of course). No reason they couldn’t make one like that, glad to see they did!

I like the Gray roof.
Back in March 2021, I actually saw another Gray BS BL with Gray roof.
I got my BS BL in Area 51 with Gray roof.

It's even stranger, the optional gray roof for '22 isn't a Carbonized Gray, it's a lighter shade of gray. That's why the gray roof was NA with CG body, it looked kind of odd as the colors clashed. You can see the lighter gray on the Ford website if you build a BS.

Oh thanks for filling me in on that! I didn’t realize it was a lighter gray. Good to know, and will probably work even better for me, as I chose the gray roof with silver, partially for an old school two tone look & partially to tie in the gray grill & wheels. But I always thought it was CG, didn’t realize it was lighter.

I thought the '21s you could order grey roof with grey paint and yes it was that diff color grey kind of looked a little off. Or maybe I thinking silver with grey roof?

Attached is my window sticker - unless I'm blind I certainly don't see anything here noting the gray roof option was chosen.

That was my point. For model year 2022 the gray roof option cannot be selected with a Carbonized Gray body, it's not available as an option in the build, so you won't see it on the window sticker.

I was hoping door sticker would have both roof color and body color. But door sticker on mine only shows body color. Mine is white with black top so I was hoping to see two paint color codes on door sticker. But only lower body color was there no roof color code my door sticker.

On January 5th, the CSX tracker said my wife’s BL was on the last leg of its rail journey to Lordstown OH. It should have arrived by about 9pm. I called the tracker the next morning and it said it had arrived! In Easton OH, not Lordstown? WTF?

Easton is about 45 minutes to an hour west of Lordstown and they don’t unload cars there that I’m aware of. The car has been sitting there since arriving on the 5th and there is “no ETA available” according to the tracker. Just when I started to believe the end was near, another twist to the saga of ordering a Bronco Sport.
