So I was helping my brother do his timing belt on his 2012 Honda Ridgeline and Honda crank bolts are notoriously hard to get off and my home air compressor and tank was broken and I did want to just go buy a new one because I'm waiting for my friend to help fix it because to get an equivalent air compressor now would cost me probably $1,000 at least.

Also, we tried the 6-ft breaker bar And my brother did it and he's like 300 lb. He's a big huge dude and it wasn't enough and we broke a half inch breaker bar that I've had for like 10 years that I've used on prior Honda crank bolts and it survived and it didn't on this one.

So I was able to buy what's called a Lyle heavy mass socket in the correct size for that engine (19mm) and I hooked my 750-ft lb impact wrench up to it (I have an extra line coming off my air suspension tank that I can run air tools off of) and I was able to connect that to my impact wrench and use that and the heavy Mass Lyle socket to take off the crank bolt off and it came off in like 5 seconds and so I thought that was pretty impressive.

So now I know that if something happens on the trail, if I have my air tools with me or if someone has a it tools, we can hook them up to my car and use air tools.

I will add though that the compressor did have to kick on a lot because I only have a 3 gallon tank and my home compressor has a 20 gallon tank. Also, my bronco sport air compressor stops at 150 psi and my home one I think ran 200. It was a pretty powerful one so if you were doing something that required a lot of use with air tools it would take a little longer cuz you have to wait for the compressor to fill up the tank and the compressor would probably be running near constantly but in emergency situation I can use air tools off my car!

Also, in case anyone was wondering, here's some shots of the Lyle heavy mass socket which I think was 25 bucks or 30 bucks depending on where you buy it and they've got them in different sizes. So if you're having to deal with a Honda crank bolt or some other bolt that's insane to get off. If there's room I would definitely get one of these and try it because it zipped it off like it was nothing.

I put some comparison pics to what a normal impact socket looks like, which isn't even a regular socket. It's an impact socket, so they're a little heavier and stronger made for heavy duty impact use, but these Lyle heavy mass sockets are just massive.

As long as it's in the shade the risk of dropping stuff on your foot is offset by the heat shed from no socks or shoes yes!
