Leaving on a trip tomorrow and need to buy roof rack today.. I can get the Yakima Timberland streamline kit (steel) for 479$cdn + $100 for 4 locks..... Or Rhinorack Vortex stealthbar (aluminium) for 590ish (locks incl).... Is it worth the extra couple bucks? Or all the same shhhh.... Thanks for any quick replies

I think this more depends on your use case. (I.e. do you have weight limits, do you need more stability or do you need lighter weight, etc.)

If it's to add on packs, gear, and stuff that you know won't exceed the roof weight limits, I'd go for the steel rack.

If it's to add on heavier items where you might run into the weight limit of the roof, I'd go for the aluminum rack.
