This is long winded but I figured it'd be good to share.

A few weeks ago I noticed that my hood was vibrating quite aggressively when I started my Bronco, so much so that I was concerned it might not drive. The sound it created inside the cab was loud but when I stepped outside I couldn't hear anything. It worsened when I put it into gear (more so in reverse) and had my foot on the brake, but as soon as I let of the brake everything went back to normal. The vibration upon starting the Bronco went away after a few days but still persisted when I put the car in reverse. The only thing that had changed from before the vibration began was my worksite became extremely muddy so I began taking on a lot of mud on the undercarriage and wheel wells. After spending 30+ minutes power washing all the mud from my Bronco that weekend, the vibration still persisted when putting it in reverse so I scheduled an appointment at my local Ford dealer.

Fast forward two weeks to the day before my appointment, I finally decided to pop my hood and noticed a substantial amount of mud had gotten in the engine compartment. After lightly washing the inside to remove the mud the vibration decreased considerably - so much so that I wasn't sure they'd be able to replicate my issue when I took my car in. Thankfully the technician was able to replicate it yesterday. My Bronco's official diagnosis is that nothing is wrong with it, here's the explanation I was given:

"I did feel what the customer is is stating and that is due to the electronic servos inside transmission switching from drive to reverse. Reverse has its own gear set inside trans and it's electronically switched."

While I'm glad they didn't find anything wrong with my Bronco, I've never had a car that vibrates as much as this one when switching into reverse and can't help but wonder if it'll be an issue down the road. Has anyone else experienced this? I'd like to know if the issue is specific to my Bronco or persists across many.

Thanks!

Not experienced at all with my Badlands. These models and trims all have the same -- identical -- transmission.

Thanks for the input... I definitely don't it's normal. I plan on getting a second opinion when I get the chance.
