Modem and wifi

Hey folks,

So yeah there is a modem in the vehicle, and there is an option for AT&T to connect, anyone get them to connect with another provider.

Wondering if I can use the vehicle as a connection point for my phone.

My gut says ATT has a locked deal just like cell phones. Maybe you can switch providers but I'm gonna guess nope.

If it has a cellular modem it must have an IMEI. If the car works like a phone then they are legally obliged to unlock it once the device is paid off. The question is does it mean you can go to another carrier when you pay off the car?
