Do you have a link describing this system? If the engine isn't running the transmission isn't turning, therefore no heat is imparted to the fluid. Why would you need to continue cooling the fluid if you've stopped generating heat? However, with start/ stop is engaged at a stop the torque converter is Not spinning. At this point the cooling is being provided by an internal powered pump that is 12 volt and powered by car battery.
I don't believe the 8F35 transmission uses an auxiliary pump, I believe it uses an accumulator. An accumulator holds a quantity of fluid under pressure, which may then be released to prevent undue delay in transmission engagement. However, with start/ stop is engaged at a stop the torque converter is Not spinning. At this point the cooling is being provided by an internal powered pump that is 12 volt and powered by car battery.
