Do you have a link describing this system? If the engine isn't running the transmission isn't turning, therefore no heat is imparted to the fluid. Why would you need to continue cooling the fluid if you've stopped generating heat?

I don't believe the 8F35 transmission uses an auxiliary pump, I believe it uses an accumulator. An accumulator holds a quantity of fluid under pressure, which may then be released to prevent undue delay in transmission engagement.
