Howdy All
All right here is one of the biggest things that ticks me off.

I travel a lot and rent cars or trucks, most of the time I try and get fords because I know how to operate them. I always pair my iPhone with the Sync system. Here is the issue.

Just about every car or truck says pair with Sync and that is the Bluetooth pairing name, no way to change it on the phone or in Sync. My Expedition says Expedition so I know that one. My 2015 F150 says Sync my BS says Sync and the last three rental cars all say Sync. So now I deleted all of them and have to add my own two vehicles back. Most of the time I remember to add them before I take off and drive sometimes like tonight I forgot to until I was on the highway, so I pulled over took the phone call and redid my Sync

Is there any way to change the pairing name? Ford are you listening

Rant off
Mike

I rename the connection in my phone so I keep track of my personal vehicles. Never thought about changing it in the vehicle itself.

Do you have an iPhone? I am pretty sure my old Samsung I could do it on. I have not found a way to do it on my iPhone.

Thanks
Mike

1) Go in to your vehicle settings and find the "About Sync" informational screen.

2) Write down the Bluetooth address of your car's system.

3) Go on to the phone open settings. Go to Connected Devices.

4) Find the one named "Sync" with the same Bluetooth address.

5) Edit the device details on the phone, name it whatever you want.

I have an iPhone 13, I have tried to change the name on the phone, and there is no way I can find to do it.

Believe me I have been doing this for years now to some extent, on my 2016 F150 I changed the BT pairing name using Forscan. I sold the truck the get my wife the expedition.

Thanks
Mike

Hmmm. Works on mine and on my iPad. What version of the OS are you running?
I have an iPhone 13pro. You can change the Sync name to BS or just the Apple equipment?

I will try the iPad and see.

I am on the latest SW build.

This is all I get when I hit the info button. As you can see the Expedition says it’s name just not the BS or the F150

Sorry, I somehow missed that in your post. I'm on Android but looks like you have some fellow members here who can help.

I believe you must be connected to the device in order to rename it.
You sir are my hero. I just went out and started it then renamed it. Still don’t understand why Ford doesn’t rename it, like they do on a few of there vehicles. Ford is still not off the hook, but this issue is.

Thanks
Mike

I guess now I have to come up with a creative name for mine when it gets here.
