So about two weeks ago, I started to face some issues with my radio and touch screen. Whenever I got out of the car the screen would freeze and turn off. When I got back into my 2022 Bronco sport big bend, the screen would either remain sith the rear seat reminder or completely blank. Radio wouldn't work. So I tried a soft reboot by pressing the power and right seek button to reboot. It would work for a couple of days but then I would start to get and enable auto updates screen everytime I started my car and the radio would be on. Reading on cyanlabs it seems version 22251 has an issue with the raw data ROM being full, which would cause the issue. Tried doing a master reset but my screen would freeze. Tried downloading the cyanlabs utility to check out my bronco sport apim ROM memory available. Found the APIM number on my bronco sport by pressing both the right seek button on the steering wheel and radio since you need it to verify compatibility on the utility tool. Get access to the screen test and look for APIM. The code has the following format xxxx-14xxx-xxxx. Followed the steps on the tool to extract, first, the log from my radio unit. Guess what, no ROM memory available ? so I had to use the raw data eraser option and that solved the issue. You will need a clean USB drive with at least 8gb. Once cleared the raw data file, I was able to download the sync 3.4 build 23188 I think, latest update which fixes the issue of the full memory. Hope this works for any of you facing a similar issue.

There seems to be easier ways than using cyan labs but if you are happy with use of cyan labs that is all that matters

personally I would not use cyan labs but that’s me

Sync 3.4.23188 is the latest (for now)

you will also want to check if Customer Satisfaction Program 24B47 applies to your VIN

How is Panama?

Thanks for your reply. I downloaded the official update from Ford. I only used the cyan labs tool to clear the rom so that the update could work.

Well it is tropical downpour time down here but other than that, everything is great. Thanks. How about Arizona?

Getting an haboob tonight - pretty big dust storm and a lot of heavy rain in a short amount of time with intense winds.

you are right about the clearing out the R/W memory (ROM) - some of us use the “2 minute sync reset” which like you said is soft reboot by pressing the power and right seek button to reboot but hold those buttons for 2 minutes until sync starts up then repeat the “2 minute sync reset” at least one more time. This also freed up enough memory to allow me to go from 22251 to 23188 but using the cyan labs tool is a smart way to solve the memory issue.

another owner on this forum posted these details about a year ago when many owners were having the issues with 22251 like you just fixed going to 23188.

After you have 23188 you could check on Customer Satisfaction Program 24B47 but the dealership has to do this because it is not an over the air update like Sync and applies to just some VIN #s.
