Hey all,
To start off, I’m originally a Jeep Guy, so don’t judge me. Electrical on a Jeep, and adding auxiliary lighting on an old CJ was as easy as splicing so whatever power supply you wanted.

On that note, I’ve never had to use a control box with multiple relays for a rocker switch unit. I’ve also seen a lot of posts about how much of an electrical nightmare the BS is, so I’m reaching out for some guidance.

After talking shop with Rough Country about what I’m looking to do with some lighting features, I settled on grabbing their universal MLC-6 controller and switch set. Great, beats having to go through the OEM fuse panel and install multiple relays.

Now the hard part. I have 7” 3-way Audexen LED work lights I’m going to mount on my nudge bar. On the Jeep, It would be no problem to splice the low/high/and DRL wires to the same supply lines for the headlights and mount the ground.

Instead, I’m taking the safer route and running each low/High/DRL lines to their own separate switch/relay in the controller. But now I’m confused about the ground. Since the controller provides a ground source for each switch/relay, I’m having trouble figuring out it’s wiring.

Do I run the single ground into switch/relay 1 (DRL), then bridge from 1-2 (Low Beam), and then 2-3(High Beam)?

Do I take the 1 ground wire and splice out into 3 separate relay connections?

Do I say screw it, remove some paint and mount the ground from the light to the body of the car and only use the controller for the hot/relay switch need?

I have an update if anyone is in the same boat as I am.

In this case where I have 2 lights that have 3 beam settings and share a common ground -

1. put each beam setting on its own separate relay switch.
2. Run the original ground to the first switch on the relay
3. Bridge the ground to the other 2 relays inside the controller.
