Starts with FOB but engine shuts off once any button inside is pushed. Doesn't start with start/stop button or Ford app.

My vehicle starts with remote FOB start but once I get inside and push the start/stop button (or any button for that matter) the vehicle shuts off.
I started the vehicle from my room with the fob and it was running correctly. As i got in, the AC was on, I went to push the start/stop button to drive and it shut off.
It won't even try to start when I am inside the vehicle and push the start/stop button. I tried jump starting with cables and it wont turn on.
I think this is some type of electrical issue but I am not sure where. I tested the battery with a voltage meter and got a reading of 12.36.
I am going to schedule a tow from the Ford App tomorrow.
Any help/troubleshooting would be nice.

Did you try the other key, it could be an issue with the fob not being recognized inside the car

After you remote start it and get in, does the DIC screen tell you to do something? Are you doing what it says to do? If there's no message on the screen then it sounds like the remote start isn't operating correctly.

I unfortunately don't have the second fob with me as i am away from home. I will try to set the fob right near the sensor when i get in next time. Thank you.

Hmmm, something is up. Just a side note, I can just press start in my Badlands after remote starting from the FOB, no brake push needed. I only have to push the Brake to put it into drive......

Yes. When I do that, the vehicle shuts off once I try to put it into drive. At this point I hope the ford dealership (which is not my home dealership since I'm out of state) can figure it out and that the fix is covered under warranty. I've only had the vehicle for a little over a year so this is kind of disappointing.

The vehicle is on but nothing else that is normally on when I remote start is on. (Screen, AC, etc.)

Problems with the computers seems to be a recurring issue. You can "reset" the system by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for about 10 minutes or so. If you decide to give that a try let us know what happens.

I had a random issue in late Dec. early January where BS wouldn't start while sitting in the driver's seat with the fob in normal spot, but would with the app on my phone. It happened about 6 different times and then quit. At the request of Ford on this forum, I took to dealer and they checked it out. Could not find any issue but ordered a Smart Data Link Module which was installed yesterday. I will say, I've not had that issue since January though.
