So… I traded a four banger turbo 2015 and it had…. Noises. Mainly dependent on ambient temperatures it had a different voice (mostly always a variety of a muscle car had a baby with an f1 race car).
I got my BS BL back in Nov. ish? It had some pretty prominent sounds, a wheezing clicking from the left of the driver spot mostly.
BUT it was very reminiscent of a sound my stang used to make in the winter when it was cold (for here, cold is <50f). The colder the louder.
today it got up to 80f finally. No sound. More power.
take that for what it’s worth, but I think the turbo is not only temp sensitive with a sweet spot for most power (summers suck in turbos out here. 120f doesn’t let a turbo do squat). I wonder if it doesn’t also affect the noises it makes.
