I'm not sure why you would pay the extra $ for a Heritage and then mod it. Wouldn't that usurp the reason for one and effect the future resale?

I think this depends on whether we are talking about the Heritage or the Heritage Limited. I tend to agree that if you pay $45k for a Limited, which sounds like it is being discontinued, you might want to preserve it in factory condition. However, a Heritage itself is just a BB with a different paint job, white wheels and cool plaid seats. I would say mod away on that.

I think it doesn't matter. The HEL is not that expensive that we as BS buyers can not afford it. I thought about one with the intention of using it as I do my Badlands currently. Why save it for someone else to enjoy. We are not talking about making retirement money here. If any of you read about Pigpen then you know you are not taking it with you. So ENJOY it. Mod it Wheel it Enjoy the FUCK out of it.

Probably not the best picture to reply to your question but I just did the aeroskin II shield and bushwhacker flares. I also made the back letters red to match the front. I didn’t do as much on this as my previous Sports as I liked the look.

… for a Limited, which sounds like it is being discontinued, …
I usually avoid being too mean but I cannot help pointing out that this is the single dumbest thing written on this forum. They only made 1,996 (hence the word Limited).

I was pointing out the fact that the thread title referred to Heritages, without any distinguishing between Heritage and HL. Obviously, Heritages are quite plentiful and sounds like will make the cut for 2024, and Limited, which as you so asutely reminded us, is Limited to 1,966 and will not be continued. IMHO, one will have value beyond its years and you might consider preservation of the factory model as they aren't going to make anymore. Not sure how my post is the stupidest thing you have ever read. You have certainly led a charmed life surrounded by expert savants if a completely accurate statement is considered this stupid.

Charmed life? Yes
Expert servants? They are plentiful, but I would not consider them experts.
Accurate statement? I’d use Limited production over discontinued, but yes, my apologies.
As for preserving the investment? No. I’m having too much fun using it for what it’s made for and with this charmed life, see #1, there is no need to add to my riches. :inlove:

Far be it from any of us to buy a vehicle and actually use it the way we see fit.

And any unibody FWD based SUV/CUV isn't exactly going to bring the big buck at Mecum or Barrett Jackson by the time we're done with it. We average 25K annually and had it running through muck yesterday. Just happened to like the color scheme and it crossed the boxes.

Oh and I certainly would mod away on mine if I had one. I am just pointing out that I think that the HLE does have some potential for future value (I agree it won't be a 1970 GTO.) And on the issue of "Limited production" over "discontinued", I would point out that the F-150 Limited has been produced every year since 2016. Ford is not always consistent with their terminology.
