Safe lite quoting $2,200 for windshield replacement!?

Most insurance do deal with Safelite, but will cover whoever you want with receipt. My deductible is $100 for glass claims. Yes, OEM glass is something that does need to be ordered usually. Safelite list that when you order it for the replacement.

I am on my third windshield with less than 9,000 miles on my Big Bend that arrived in January. I had the dealer do a ceramic coating on the paint and they offered a similar product for the windshield and interior. The window treatment repairs or replaces the windshield at no cost to me. It was $600 from the dealer but I think it's paid for itself now.

So just wanted to give everyone an update. The original quote was way off. I was given the option to have OEM or the safe lite product and I chose there’s. That’s due to how many chips and dings I acquired in the first year of ownership. This option is only 710$ with mobile install and calibration

there are MANY options to the safelight ripoff , most any glass or body shop can do this for MUCH less , we used [american windshield] in az. a couple years ago ,great service and WAY cheaper to replace our rav4 windshield at our campsite .safelite spends milions on advertising - and YOU pay for it .

I am also on my third windshield, about the same miles. My insurance deductible in NC is $500 per windshield. I also had a recall which has been repaired. Love the car but if the windshield cracks again I don't know if I will keep it.

Same here. I’ve never had a vehicle where the windshield chips and runs so easily. I’ve had 7 chips in a year. I am shipping the vehicle abroad so decided not to get the windshield replaced until it was time for me to leave. The is is definitely going to make me reconsider the idea of buying another one in the future.
