I've become used to having a block heater for my vehicles and may be installing one if all goes to plan.
Has anyone chased their block heater cord back to it's origin? I've seen the threads inquiring the whereabouts of the plug, but there's zero intel on the location of the heating element.
Hoping a 1.5er out there might be able to clue me in.

I remember block heaters.
Minot AFB. The Cold War,
Freezings the Reason.
It was my first year. From Christmas to New Years the temps remained -37 F for lows and -20 for highs for more than a week.
Wind chills got to -97
Even with a block heater it was best to leave your car alone.
We all had out batteries inside the dorm.

Minot AFB. The Cold War,
When were you at Minot? My dad was stationed there around 1970, then I did tours at Ellsworth and Grand Forks during my 20 years of service. My unit at Ellsworth had two birds (EC-135s) sitting on alert at Minot, so I spent quite a bit of time up there too.

During the Regan presidency. I was also in West Germany when I saw President Regan In the flesh. Next Came the Chernobyl catastrophe.

Well, why not Minot! We were there at the same time then. I was stationed at Ellsworth from '81-'86. I did 5 or 6 alert tours per year up there, either at the bomber or tanker facility. We had one bird at each. Bet I saw you at the BX or the gym one time or another. Heh.
