No daytime running lights

Have to take a look at mother's big bend, says she has not daytime running lights. A lot of well informed folks here. Ideas where I should look to save me time fiddling around? Thanks

With a location of Walkerton I’ll assume she’s in Canada so her BB has DRL’s. So they should just work without having to do anything int he configuration. About all I can see in the owner’s manual is making sure the headlights aren’t set to ‘on’.

IIRC, the Big Bend just uses only the horizontal bar part for the DRL. Only the upper trims have the full circle DRL. Is it possible they are working properly but not as expected?

The base model in Canada has the bar and circle

IIRC - DRL’s are the law in Canada. On my Sport they are automatic as long as the lights are turned to Auto. I don’t know how much difference the trim level makes, but here are a couple of pictures of places to check..

If this slide is in the off position, as pictured, you’ll need to change it to On.

Thanks for the help. I don't think the DRL slide is on the Canadian version as I was on that screen. I think they are working when I looked at it. Not sure what she's talking about. Just said that her escape was different. They may not work while in park as the manual states so I guess I'll have to drive around in circles to show her they work. Either that or it's time to put her in a senior home. Lol

I think that DRL are a great feature. Do the taillights also come on with the DRL's. If not, why not? Seems like another good safety feature.

The owners manual has the answer's.
Better yet, if you have Ford Pass, the owners manual is accessible from their as well, and what makes it even better, it's searchable.

I just typed "day time running lights" in the search bar, and like magic the answer was displayed.

My DRLs remain on for what I think is an unusual amount of time after I exit the vehicle (5-8 minutes not as expected) I hear there is a "service bulletin" for this issue but I'll be damned if I have to pay to fix an [obvious] defect
