I installed the Ford hood gaskets on both sides of the hood shortly after I got the BS. You just snap this in- so very easy to do. There is zero shake on my hood and it firmly latches. I would recommend giving this a try if your hood shakes.

My hood also shakes a lot in the drive thru car wash when high speed dryer blows on it.
The hood on my '23 Outer Banks does pretty well at the car wash. However, my wife's '20 Ecosport and the '19 Edge I used to have both had the glass blown out of the driver's side mirrors. The car wash made good in both cases, and I now pull a cut up pantyhose over the mirror before I get the Ecosport washed.

kshaw, thanks for posting about the weatherstripping. After seeing your post I got the weatherstripping and snapped them into the hood. It looks just like your picture. I didn't realize that this was something that was previously deleted early on. I have similar weatherstripping on 2019 Edge

I have not really taken the BS out in the rain much and some time after driving in a misty type rain I popped the hood and noticed what looked like brown water spots on the top of the fenders and the underside of the hood. The spots were nowhere else in the engine compartment so I assumed it had to be from the rain as I had never noticed the spots before. I was thinking at the time that now I have something else to clean on the BS after a rain. We will see if the added weatherstripping will help.

I know. I really do not know what it was. I initially thought something exploded and sprayed all over the engine compartment but I could only see the stains o the top of the fender and under the hood along where it meets the fenders. So far haven't seen a repeat of it on the fenders. I wonder if it happened because it was more of a mist and just got under the hood on the sides. There was nothing on the front of the engine compartment along where the hood prop lays but there is weather stripping along the front edge.

Have you checked the water pump, from what I have read people only knew their water pump was leaking when they saw liquid on the hood and fender.

I never knew that. I am going to the dealer service department next week for something else. I will ask my service advisor and show him the pictures. I have the 2.0L engine. Did those engines also have the water pump issue? I thought it was only the 1.5L engines.

If it feels waxy, it may have been sprayed by Ford when making the car. This used to be common practice to spray everything in the engine compartment with something like LPS3.

Not sure about waxy. At the time I didn't think about wiping it with my finger, I assumed it was just from the misty rain that we had a few days before but not so sure what it was anymore. It hasn't come back since wiping it off. It did come off easily by wiping with a damp cloth.

I bought the hood gaskets but the shakes continue, i wanna know if the position of the hood bump stops are too high or lowest position. Could you please bring me another photo of the stops please ?

Hello there, would you happen to have the part numbers for those hood weatherstrips?
