How about posting pics of one of your favorite hikes with your dog. Only other requirement is you got to the trail head in your Bronco Sport! This one is in Washington state with our 2 year old miniature wiener dog. Yep the little dogs can hike too. Had him out today on a different trail that was new to both of us, yet close to home.

Great idea for a thread!

So this is a favorite as it’s a quick easy loop you can do as much or as little as you want with multiple lakes along the way to stop at. Johnson Lake though in particular you can get all around in <2mi.

We’d done that one first as per usual. Not terribly cold out, but a bit icy in places not surprisingly. This was the side eye look I got when I asked her to get out of the car at the next lake to go around. I have to admit I wasn’t feeling another hike either though.

What a pair of beauties - we see more and more Australian Shepards out-and-about - and have a young one next door.

Another Archie the wiener dog quest - local Pinnacle Peak memorial fire lookout hike he has done several times with me. For anyone looking for Washinton state hikes, great little jaunt.

Seen that look - the ol' side eye. Don't have a shot of Archie in the Bronco Sport surprisingly - will have to do that.

Would you believe Andi has more Rottweiler in her than Aussie? Lol. I've always loved long haired dachshunds.

@Ponyrider, @ATLAS BLUE BADLANDS .. a humorous story about Australian Shepards..

A few years back we were outside on the patio at the haunted hotel Jerome AZ having a glass of wine, next table over was a couple with their Australian Shepard and another table was a guy talking in a very loud voice (maybe had a few glasses by then) but he kept repeating..

Do you know the one thing about Australian Shepards, ā€œthey never leave you!ā€

Didn’t know exactly what he meant but the phrase is burned in our brains so every time my GF and I see a dog we’ll say ā€˜And they never leave you’ lol

They are beautiful dogs!

I think he is referring to the loyalty of Australian Shepards and they won’t leave your side? Is that what he was saying?

Not sure about Australian Shepherds and loyalty. Andi is, in order most to least, Australian Cattle dog, Rottweiler, miniature Australian Shepherd, Border Collie and Great Pyrenees. She looks like an Aussie, but acts like a Border Collie. She was the only one of this color in her litter. And she is the smallest.

How 'bout a Chiweenie? As far as I've been able to determine, Molli is absolutely tireless. Wanna go for a hike? Unless you want to disappoint her, plan on all day. This was taken on Weldon Springs Lewis & Clark trail along the Mississippi River near Saint Louis, MO.

Did you do one of those dog DNA tests to find out? I’ve been curious about Keeley aka Ms Mutt since all anybody can do is fire wild guesses as to just what she might be.

Yes. I did the embark test. I also did it on one of my old dogs. I swore he was a mix of a border Collie and some shepherd type dog. Ha. He was chow, springer spaniel and poodle. That explained the crazy fur.
