Looking for some input on this one. Last couple of days I installed a Kicker Hideaway. Config is that for ground we tapped in the back, remote we used the wire in the groumet by the spare tire, power went to the battery and speakers I tapped the rear speaker wires.

Now I have a weird issue…. Twice after I left the car sit for a period of time, when I was backing out of the garage I got a brightness alert on the dashboard. Last night I just discarded it thinking when we did the install I bumped a button or maybe accidentally caused a stuck button. Then it did it again today. Weird part is last night and today I also made other stops while I was out and it didn’t do it. It just seems at home after a period of time coming out of the garage. It doesn’t seem to be impacted by rattles. Brightness buttons seem to work.

Any thoughts?

I hadn’t heard of a brightness alert, do u have a pic of that alert or more info

Any chance you have the dimmer control (lower left of steering wheel) set to high or too low?

Is this what the alert is?…
A "brightness alert" in a Ford vehicle typically refers to a dashboard notification warning you that your instrument panel brightness is at its maximum or minimum limit. It can also refer to a system prompt suggesting you adjust the screen brightness for better night driving visibility

When I say alert, I mean the normal dash prompt if you were adjusting the brightness. The brightness is one or two notches down from full brightness so I would say two thirds up on brightness.

What power wire (“wire in the groumet by the spare tire”) did you attach the kicker into - meaning do you know what else is powered by that wire?

I believe it is the tail LEDs or the 12V plug. I found it as a suggestion on another forum for the remote wire. The power wire goes from the Kicker straight to the battery. We grounded under the back seat.
