2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks
Hi Everyone!

Unfortunately our 2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks was backed into in a parking lot. The part in question (circled in the attached picture) is completely scratched up (it's plastic).

It seems as though with this part and maybe some hardware I could just pop off the plastic panel and pop in a new one, which brings me to my question, what part number corresponds to this panel? Additionally, is this possible to DIY if I order the part to my local dealership?

Thank you in advance!

I'd guess it MIGHT be...possibly, cheaper to go to a body shop and have them touch it up. If it's plastic and merely scratched not cracked or punched through, fix it. I assume you have a silver sport, easy color match due to the metal flake from work I've done.

Here’s a photo of the damage to the plastic part, no puncture or crack. PDR place wanted $1400…

DIY fixable?

I bet it comes as an unpainted version. Depending on how much work you want to put into it, a junkyard piece could match enough if you can find it. Otherwise the painter will still have to get involved. Don't know how much you'll end up saving.

Sidenote; the very first Bronco Sport that I looked at was an Alto Blue OB. I didn't love the color but one thing I really didn't like is how that exact plastic panel didn't match the rest of the car well (IMO). Silver probably be an easier match, but I mention it because it is noticeable if they don't and it would bug me if it was mine.

You’re exactly right. Unpainted part, would have to paint it or have it painted.

Will most likely just have to suck it up and have a shop take care of the damage.

If you are fairly handy we can replace it yourself. It's not too hard. If i'm not mistaken, it's held on by a bolt or two and a metal rivet. A body shop will have to paint, but you might be able to save a few bucks doing it yourself.
