Hurry! Do it tomorrow mourning! A couple of hours ago I ordered 4 of the last 10, 16x7, +30, MR707 Bead Grip wheels they had through @Discount Tire after they agreed to price match the lowest price I found online, which was Custom Wheel Outlet, for the unbelievably low price of $119.99 each! As always I will use my Discount Tire Credit card and get an additional 5% off and promotional financing.
Now I need to decide exactly which tires I want to put on them. Having recently taken an interest in both the Milestar Patagonia A/T Pro and the Nokian Outpost nAT, I think I've settled on the Nokian since the winter weather forecast for the western half of Virginia is calling for at least 2x the average amount of snow this winter. They are, indeed, A/T tires and not Snow tires but they are 3 peak snow flake rated, not unlike many others but I wanted to try something different and felt these would be a better road and winter tire than the Milestar's, which I felt would probably be a better A/T tire and more likely to fit, with a 245/75/16 @30.5" diameter, if I decided to push the limits, diameter wise, because of it's more rounded tread shoulders but decided to stay with a 245/70/16 (29.5")Nokian because of the +30mm offset of the Method's. Also, I'm only interested in XL load rated tires, for my off road use, having had bad luck with a previous SL load rated A/T tire. (3 sidewall punctures) I will also be buying tire certificates from Discount Tire, as Well. I call that combination doubly insured, XL rated and a tire warranty. Now, having Baja Boss A/T's on the 17" wheels I bought form DT last year, I wouldn't bother to get a warranty, on those, again and I'll probably buy another set of Mickey's when these wear down to 6/32, form the 16/32 they came with. The only thing I think I might consider as an alternative would be the NEW Goodyear Duratrac RT, but it isn't currently offered in a size that is supper BS friendly, with the most likely sizes to fit being the 245/70/17 (30.55") and 255/65/17 (30.1") but also wider. Still, I think the 255/65 would fit with a stock offset wheel. +37.5mm) I'd buy a set in an instant if they came in 235/70/17 and put them on my +35 wheels. Both sizes are XL load rated and have 3ply sidewalls, which I've never heard of in an XL tire!, info @ www.TyreReview.com or Goodyear's site.
www.tyrereviews.com has some info on the Nokian Outpost nAT, which he has decided to run on his off road vehicle this year, in Utah (?) Though he has no hard data yet to compare them to any other A/T tires, he has compared them to a number of other Nokian tires.
edit/update. The wheels fit and had about a little finger thickness of clearance at the minimum, front and rear rear.
